Even though we're dreading the new Star Trek movie, we can't resist plunging our hands into the qagh bowl of spoilers. That's because we're total fiends for any and all spoilers, and we start every day with a binge. We also spoil Michael Gondry's new scifi film and unveil a scandalous new Torchwood picture, after the jump.
- Michael Gondry's next film after Be Kind, Rewind will be about kids who invent a kind of water that makes you hear music when you drink it. At one point, the kids visit the end of time. Return Of The Ice Kings will be "a scientific story, but totally unrealistic," he not-explains. [MTV Movies]
- There will be not just two, but three Spocks in the Star Trek movie, Leonard Nimoy revealed: Nimoy, Zachary Quinto and one other. We're guessing it's Baby Spock, because of the reports that J.J. Abrams was filming birth scenes set on Vulcan a while back. [TrekWeb]
- But the other Trek spoilers, about Kirk being a bad student at the Academy and the Enterprise being built in Area 51? Are wrong, says screenwriter Roberto Orci. [TrekWeb]
- Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark will have a quick cameo in The Incredible Hulk where he meets with General "Thunderbolt" Ross — the first step in linking the franchises together for the inevitable Avengers movie. [MovieHole]
- John Connor will be a reluctant savior in The Sarah Connor Chronicles, says producer Josh Friedman. And you should think of the show as "an alternate timeline" from Terminator 3. The show's third episode has Sarah investigating a cell-phone salesman who may play a role in the birth of Skynet, while John tries to settle in at his new school. [SpoilerTV]
- Jamie Hector will play Knox, the crime lord who comes back to New Orleans to make Micah's life difficult, in Heroes Vol. 3. [HeroesTV]
- Not only will Kyle XY's parents protect him from Madacorp, they also take him to the company picnic to confront the corporate overlords. [IESB]
- Here's an early glimpse of time travelers Captain Jack and Captain John (James Marsters) smooching in an upcoming Torchwood, from the Sun newspaper. [Whedonesque]

That's a shame about the Sarah Connor Chronicles. The one thing (okay, one of two things) I liked about Terminator 3 was that it actually ended with Judgment Day--a ballsy move in general, but one that also resolved the heinous paradoxes that they brought up in the second movie.
Hooray for the Downey cameo! Avengers assemble!
well i love spock i'm having spock, spock, spock, spock, spcok, spock, bake beans, spock, spock, spock, and spock
bake beans are off!
can i have spock instead of the bake beans then?
you mean spock spock spock spock spock spock Spock SPOCK SPOCK SPOCK SPOCK... LOVELY SPOCK! WONDERFUL SPOCK!
@moff: Please no... does Marvel have to butcher their catalog even further by creating the abortion of a movie an Avengers movie would be? I never thought I'd see the day that my childhood idols would be mangled in the interest of making mega-bucks.
@braak: Never let it be said that even after you get things neatly wrapped up, you can't unravel them again. Of course, when you're dealing with time-travel and malevolent robots, you can't ever be sure you're safe (see the Borg, Berserker).
I never believed the Kirk-bad-student idea. Everything in TOS pointed to the fact that he became the youngest Captain in Star Fleet because he was exemplary, if a little off-the-wall. And my god, why do I still care... every time you think you get out, they drag you back in!
@NefariousNewt: Sorry, I refuse to buy into the hackneyed notion that as soon as a movie is made, all of your old comic books magically disappear or somehow can no longer provide enjoyment. The notion that a movie -- bad or good -- "ruins" a title is as silly as the expectation that one medium can be translated into another without changing anything.
And as a longtime Marvel fan, I think their track record's been not bad this century. Hulk was an abomination (pardon the pun), Spidey 3 was pretty terrible, and I haven't seen the second FF yet, but I have no complaints about anything else.
@moff: Fantastic Four 2 was pretty terrible. I was embarassed to see that in the theatre; a feeling obviated only by the fact that I didn't buy my own ticket.
And I will admit that there are few instances in which a movie can be so bad that it retroactively makes me hate the comic books it spawned from, but it has happened. Spawn, for instance, was a film that made it clear to me how insanely stupid those fucking comics were.
Of course, those comics actually were bad to begin with, so I don't know what that does to the theory.
I have to say it is completely entertaining in a sick sadistic way at how badly Aint it Cool now how egg on their face about that "spoilers" post. What I find shocking though is 3-4 days later they still haven't retracted it despite the fact that Star Treks own skriptwriter shot them down.
Oh hoe that Torchwood picture warms my fangirl heart...
How, even.
Can news that Captain Jack will make out with another guy be considered a spoiler? Next season, I'm expecting someone will kiss a weevil.
@kingedwin: I think Toby practically did kiss a weevil during that cage-match episode. Anyway, you knew Captain Jack would kiss another guy, but now you know *how* Captain Jack will kiss another guy. With tongue.
The Captain a bit of a whore... but thankfully Cablevision on Long Island isn't. They won't take my money to give me BBC America... so I guess I get to be a criminal.
Since when was the Sun a newspaper?
Also, it would be more of a spoiler if Captain Jack didn't kiss any available (man|woman|trans|alien|vegetable|tardis|soiled sonic screwdriver) available…
@moff: with you on spidey#3; X3 was pretty much pants too IMO.
@perlmonger: Re: X3 - Kelsey Grammer was great, I thought; and I've been waiting for years for someone to put an end to Cyclops's whining. ;-)
Bah. That's not a spoiler for Torchwood. A proper spoiler would be whole Torchwood crew in a no-holds barred orgy.
@NefariousNewt: You don't want to know how plundered the Marvel catalog is for movie fodder-a friend of mine was offered to pick out a new property to direct-he said that everything (good) was taken and that basically it was pathetic lizard men after that.
@pkittie: I hear the Great Lakes Avengers are still up for grabs.
"Be Kind, Rewind"- music in water, wasn't that the plot for a Metalocalypse episode?
