You knew it would happen after I defended Flash Gordon on Friday. Yes, I watched the new episode that night and now I've got one of the highlights here for you to watch, just so you don't have to endure the whole thing. I could have chosen the scene where a scientist dominatrix lady from Mongo used a brain implant to control the seratonin of an Earth dude and make him her slave. But that was actually too boring. So I picked this great scene, where Ming's daughter Princess Aura falls for the oppressed Deviate revolutionary who kidnapped her. Things to pay attention to: the AMAZING dialog ("Stand with me against this injustice!"), Aura's eyeshadow (OMG), and Flash's mouth acting. I swear they ripped this scene off from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Or maybe Star Wars?

Haim Saiban is ruining Sci fi. Someone greelight the amazing The Lost Room into a full series.
I just can't take this show seriously at all. The existence of this show does keep ECW wrestling from being the dumbest thing on SciFi, and I normally love the cheesy SciFi programming. (Giant Otter: Dead Cute.. this Saturday... )
A really great director would have let the kiss happen and Flash jump in 2 seconds too late. Oh the comedy!
This IS a comedy show, right? Okay, just checking.
While it's not great to admit I watch this show, the only excuse I can offer is that there's nothing else really on right now so at least it's SOMETHING aside from the 34 "Suggestions" that seem to be dominating the Tivo lately.
@schmid4brains: It really is a comedy show -- sometimes they even use the "waa waa" noise in the soundtrack to punctuate a particularly zany one-liner.
Yep, that be George Lucas dialog all right!
@Annalee: They did that on purpose you know. They read what you said and went "we can't have people actually watching the show! We have to do something!"
Please stop bad-mouthing Flash Gordon. I'm sure the tens of dozens of viewers who tune in regularly (fine -- semi-regularly) are immensely entertained by it.
Personally, I find that the best way to gauge the quality of a program is to count the number of bankruptcy/credit counseling and technical school commercials aired. It's really one of the best metrics out there.
I was going to post "the eyeshadow is the only thing it's got going for it" until that last line. I'm all for comedic sci-fi, but it kinda needs to be compelling dramatically and comedic, like Firefly and Farscape.
@schmid4brains: BUH WHAA HA HA;
Hee, thanks Annalee.
@PVIII:
I loved the feel of that series, but boy I couldn't figure it out.
@Annalee: Totally! Especially when they use a stud finder ([tinyurl.com]) as a rift detector.
