Our fannish friends at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas (hi, Noah!) snapped us some photos of the new Iron Man suit, which got paraded on stage by LG (who have a phone in the movie). This is the Mark-1 suit that Iron Man hacks together in prison. The Iron Man movie will be out May 2. Take a look at the suit in its full glory, plus awesome closeups of its actuators, in a gallery below the fold! Images by Curtis Joe Walker.

I just want the elbow actuators to replace the ones I have that are worn out from typing. I guess nobody has become Iron Man due to RSI yet.
Is there a voicebox setting for "Vin Diesel"?
When did Iron Man get all steampunk? Am I missing something? He upgrades once he gets out of prison right. That thing looks like it runs on coal.
@moncapitaine: Steampunk, ftw.
I never really thought of it like that, though I have seen this suit before.
@moncapitaine: Everything is steampunk now. It's become sort of last year's cliche. Thus making it retro-retro-futurism.
It's his War Machine suit......
@moncapitaine:
www.ironmanmovie.com stop asking questions - the internet is your resource.
@Stacky Botrus:
what's yer problem bro? i've seen two posts from you today, and both of them are you telling someone to shut up, when they aren't even doing what you imply they are. "When did Iron Man get all steampunk" is rhetorical, not an actual inquiry, and the "Pipe down about God Bitch this isn't church" response to "quicker to wildly throw the eggs with what god gave you" - these two things lead me to believe that you, sir, are an ignorant douchebag. I don't normally just go out on giz or io9 and drop down to labeling people, but man, you have me incredulous with your lack of comprehension.
That thing is beautiful!
Someone has done their homework on what industrial stuff looks like when it isn't all bright and shiny new.
The right details in the right places make the thing look like it could power up right now!
Wow, really nice.
You kids play nice dammit or there won't be any Ironing Man for anyone.
Thats is the same suit Marvel had at the San Diego Comic-Con last July!
The trailer at the movie's website is really good. The final (yes more modern) suit flying past the jets and then breaking the sound barrier is a very cool effect. Should be fun. Only one thing ... Robert Downey Jr.? I predict that right as the movie is about to come out, he gets arrested (again) for something stupid.
If you do a little bit of reading about Iron Man, you'll find that Tony Stark has a history of alcohol abuse.
So Robert Downey Jr. is an excellent choice. ;)
But seriously, I kind of like his delivery in the trailer.
I think the Asian Stephen Colbert is hanging out behind the Iron Man armor.
How do people cling to the wall like that?
@ghostofcharlesbronson: haha wow it DOES look like an asian Colbert
Guys go read Iron Man #1 Comic, they just tried to do something like the one on the first comic but cooler.
@ghostofcharlesbronson: That IS Asian Colbert, and that's his mobile suit.
ok.. i wish you all knew what you are talking about... because for the most part you don't.
History lesson.... Iron Man debuted in the late 1960s
if you have seen any of his original comics you would realize that the Mark 1 IS the original Iron Man armor...
And it looks pretty much the way it appeared in the early issues of the book.
so stop guessing and go look up the actual history for things next time... especially if they predate you by decades.
Actually, they debuted this version of the armor at Comic Con 2007. It was in the Marvel Comics booth area.
nice pics!
my neck hurts.
@nutbastard: You know, sister-site Kotaku lets readers vote weekly for who gets a swatting from the banhammer...
I wonder if they take crossover nominations.
@nutbastard: Huzza!
@ThatGuyOverThere:
kotaku == blocked at work
my console == dusty ps2 in a box somewhere
kotaku != worth the trouble
The Debut at Comi-con was way cooler, they had this gigantic wooden crate that said Stark industries stamped on it a few times, sitting there for 2 days. then after the marvel panel they went down and opened it to reveal this standing there in all ts glory.
hello Sauron...
That suit looks like it needs a shitty new metal cover of an old metal song when it walks into a room.
Just watched it in high def finally. One of the best trailers in a long time for sure...
