Chris Chibnall - head writer and producer for Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood - has been signed up for a 13-episode order of a brand new addition to NBC's Law & Order franchise, Law & Order: London. Chibnall's new role as showrunner for the series puts into question his future on BBC's Welsh-set sex-and-spooksathon, just days before the launch of the show's second season. so apparently they are branching out all over huh. I just saw France is getting their own Law and Order: CI as well.
Uk cop shows are ten times better then anything we have here in America. Why make this?
@hn333: Yet funny enough ask any brit what cop show they like and most would say Hill Street Blues.
Personally, I reckon Chibnall has done some terrible work on some great series, especially TORCHWOOD, so WHO fandom won't miss him terribly.
But good luck with the new job!
He's not really the best writer of the set. Check the credits per episode on wiki. He's good, but not the be all end all. Also, if they need more writers, I've been wanting to move to London for awhile, and Cardiff just might be close enough.
Worst. TV Show. Ever.
If you're anything like me: You PASSIONATELY hate it when a television show goes on way too long (i.e. American Idol and The Amazing Race).
How are the detective going to solve any crimes when they can't even look at each other without furiously tongue-kissing?
So, that is what a bastard love child between Tom Cruise and Zach Braff would look like.
NBC do know that no one can't beat the Bill for top cop drama, don't they?
@Jim Treacher:
NICE!
