Finnish artist Ilkka Halso believes that, once we're done depleting the ozone, destroying the rainforests, and using up all arable land, nature will be on view in amusement parks, kinda like zoo animals—glorified yet completely devoid of purpose. Below are more images of nature amusement parks from the future.

Awesome images. I'm afraid that life is a huge amusement park already.
If that happens, I will create the Happy Nazi Group For Nature Protection. The slogan? "Fuck nature... and THAT happens again".
The theater looks boring, but so want to ride that coaster!
well I hope we have the foresight to build proper enclosures that simulate the natural environments of these environments...
cool pictures :)
I don't care how cool these pictures make it look, I still prefer Tina Turner and the Thunderdome.
@Jesus Diaz: Is it full of sound and fury, signifying nothing?
completely devoid of purpose? so trees in amusement parks don't convert carbon dioxide into oxygen?
Anybody remember that scene from Z.P.G. where museum goers are sitting around a pitiful 10' square display of rare things called "house-plants"? Same concept, but not nearly on as grand a scale.
or the ruined cityscapes in the "Mote In God's Eye" complete with mutant predators, just in case...They also had "natural" habitats too, for breeding stock.
Wow, that last image is freaky.
I was thinking about a nature-specific Gawker syndicate. Of course, this idea I'm not toying with. It's still a paranormal Gawker site that I am trying to raise money for. Donate today!
What I'd like to see is the rise of the corresponding nature critic.
"Waterfall? Pshaw. Only philistines like Waterfall. Lone Elm Tree has true depth and meaning."
@slatz_Grobnik: Volcano and Geyser...they're just so mainstream in their sensibilities. It's like Tallest Mountain; why does everything have to be so obviously dramatic? The average viewer needs to learn to accept subtlety, to understand the growth of the Single Dandelion.
@slatz_Grobnik: And then of course will rise the hipster nature snob, far more in touch than it's music and art predecessors.
@sweatsuithaven: The hipster nature kids will all be doing the DiY genetic engineering thing on trees to make them seem more authentic, you know? They'll be keepin it real with those redwoods like the hippies used to have.
@Annalee: and we but poor players, strutting and fretting our hours upon the stage?
As for the images, I love them, and hate them all at the same time. They do show our natural world as beauty, and for that I love them. The fact that every day the images become more true makes me hate them.
There will likely be a day where the national parks are just giant enclosed bubbles, with viewing windows and plackards that say "The Way it Was."
issac asimov predicted this in his books. a world completely synthesised by humans devoid of nature, with only 1 speck of a park as a token to the past.not for earth please!-blurey
