Just when you thought you'd heard all the spoilers from the new Wolverine movie, now we find out that Gambit will be joining the cast as well. Taylor Kitsch (yeah, we don't know him either) will be playing the charged-up, card-slinging, cajun-mouthed mutant, and he looks a bit like a young Sawyer from Lost. At this point, they might be able to feature just about every mutant in the X-Men comics in this flick, especially since they can hire nonames for cheap. Any chance we'll get to see Alpha Flight? We're just sayin'. [Empire Online]

He's been on Friday Night Lights, and was also in Snakes on a Plane. Except for the Snakes on a Plane thing, he has a pretty good resume.
that is a very unfortunate last name for an actor in a comic book movie that's a spin off of a trilogy of comic book movies...
But what are Zac and Isaac up to?
Gosh, but he's easy on the eyes. Let the slash fic begin!
He's quite good on Friday night lights. I worry about the accent though. He's Canadian and often it shows through his "Texas" accent so he's going to need some serious dialect coaching for a cajun drawl.
@Git Em SteveDave: You have an odd typo in your comment. You accidentally switched Friday Night Lights and Snakes on a Plane.
Does he only act in kitsch, as well?
Danny DeVito as Puck. The Chewbacca guy as Sasquatch.
ugh...Gambit is horrible...the x-men began and ended with Claremont/Byrne
He is indeed pretty, but his presence in the horror that is the film, The Covenant, doesn't instill confidence in his acting chops. Then again, acting chops are not really what one expects from comic book movies, so perhaps that's ok.
I really like Gambit which is why I don't want to see him in a movie. Have you ever heard a Cajun accent? It's no easy feat to duplicate. And never mind that Gambit is actually from New Orleans, which is not Cajun at all. Anyway, there are few actors I would trust with a Cajun accent.
@Jack:
The ability to act should be expected from EVERY actor in ANY movie. (no matter how delightfully scrumptios they may be). It's tragic that as a culture we've learned to accept less.
Fact is, in a fantasy/sci-fi/action flick, you need the talent to be very sound. Otherwise the actors are easily overshadowed by the effects.
I must be the only one who loses another chunk of interest in this movie each I hear each about some new character being added into the cast.
The one thing the X-Men films showed us was that the larger casts just meant less time for each character.
He is the most charismatic character on one of the most moving dramas on television. I have no idea if that comes from the top notch writing, or more from his own talents, and I don't really care too much. As Tim Riggins, he is perfect. Funny and heart breaking at once.
Gambit in print and toons is strangely sexy. In live action, it'll be idiotic-"Chere... I'm going to fling my cards at you and watch them blow up."
Alpha Flight? Naw.
But Astro City or Books of Magic? Mebbe.
as a new orleanian whose favorite xman is gambit, i'm a little offended that i wasn't approached for this part. is 25 too old or too young to be considered?
