Yesterday we dropped in on the Battlestar Galactica panel with Richard Hatch, who starred in the original show, and plays shady insurrectionary and politico Zarek on the new show. io9's Kevin Kelly asked Hatch what he thought Zarek would be doing if he were involved in politics on Earth during this election season. Would he be more of a behind-the-scenes Karl Rove type or would he be in the race? This is Hatch's strange, rambling answer.

Wow!! I'm still scratchin my head. So what WOULD he be doing during this election season lol! Think that one needs asked again.
I think we now know why tv shows have actors AND writers. Perhaps this was a better question for the writing staff. Would you ask Edward James Olmos how to fly a spacecruiser? Or run the U.S. Navy? Okay, you would. Never mind.
@drift_marlo: If the writing staff was at WonderCon, you bet we would have. Plus we probably would have asked Olmos why he's such a grumpy commander/admiral.
@drift_marlo: Would you ask entertainment bloggers to ask Edward James Olmos how to run the U.S. Navy? Yeah, you would.
I once sat next to Richard Hatch and Richard Herd at a Con while I was with Nimoy showing his photography. Hatch got a ton of questions like this about the new BG. Most of his answers were like this... In between breaks he'd just kind of look at me and shake his head. What do you expect from the guy? He just reads the stuff they hand him.
For his part, Richard Herd just kept whispering "Downtown" to him under his breath.
