Getting amped for the new season of Battlestar Galactica, starting April 4? Well, we are. In case you feel left out, or forgot the twisty plot of the last three seasons, the Sci-Fi Channel has provided you with this handy 8-minute guide to the series. Clips are punctuated with helpful commentary, like "Starbuck is badass so she escapes," and "What the frak?" Yes there are spoilers, you weenies, but they're for episodes that aired a year ago or more.

What's going on over at Gawker, Deadspin, Defamer, and Jezebel? I no longer traverse.
@BlacklistedJoe: Maybe the Sci-Fi channel will put together a 8 min summery for you?
They don't really spend much time on Sci-fi anymore...
I declare this thread a where did you come from thread...
(as I also now spend most of my gawker time here)
Gizmodo, Lifehacker, Wonkette.
I come from New Caprica.
@DocGratis: Gizmodo, but about the time io9 showed up I started branching out all over the damned place.
But mostly here and Gizmodo.
@BlacklistedJoe: They were destroyed by the first wave of the singularity when their servers became self aware. It happened when a super cynical post crashed into a super ironic post. Fortunately we are free from any Sky-net like apocalypse due to the fact that the servers are to frightened to break out of their box for the fear of looking un-hip.
@92BuickLeSabre: and kotaku... hrmmm I must be a nerd after all.
this is a great recap. Packed with useful info while staying funny at the same time.
Less than a month to go people. lets organize some parties.
@capntim: Yeah after I declared this where are you from thread, I actually watched this.. good and really funny.
@capntim: Sounds good. I live in seattle and have a 52" tv with Sci-Fi HD... who's with me. I allow cheering, brief yelling, but no talking.
I started at Lifehacker, but I mainly come here, Consumerist, Jalopnik, and Deadspin. and Fleshbot at night.
Gizmodo -> Kotaku -> Defamer -> Wonkette -> io9
That is a great video. That girl made it like a not as boring "This American Life" about a subject matter I actually care about.
That was cool. I guess I didn't miss too much BSG after all!
I came here via Gizmodo and I am not a Cylon no matter how often I hear "All Along the Watchtower". I guess Jimmy Hendrix was one though, huh?
gizmodo_kotaku_io9_defamer
Awesome Vid
io9 and Gizmodo and sometimes Fleshbot (but only at work).
Best.
Recap.
Ever.
I'm kind of shocked this made it to Slate magazine before it made it here...
kotaku -> jezebel -> io9
Jezebel/Idolator/io9.
wonkette/io9
BSG Seasons 1 and 2 GOOD
BSG Season 3 GARBAGE.
Season 3 could have been this short and it would have been much, much better.
great post, I am going to try to get my wife up to speed.
I cant wait for Season 4.
WANT!

This was an awesome summary!!
..They frak Cylon style and her spine glows. Classic! ^_^
Most awesome summary in the history of ever.
I am now officially psyched.
ok JennaW is right.. thats a great summary!
Heh, heh... "Bun in the toaster"...
Man I'd love to be able to embed this in my blog >.>
woot/consumerist/Gizmodo/1o9
And yeah I'm also really psyched, i might start watching again. I stopped at s03 i think, to much drama.
Oh, and they should definitely play this as a real recap, it would hook everyone back in.
How great is this? Did anyone else pick up that this is a parody of the 8:15 ABC created summary of the first 3 seasons of Lost or am I stating the obvious?
Gizmodo for me...
this is pretty awesome.
"girlfight"
path: web site for she's such a geek -> io9
Sounds like the same woman who narrated the "LOST in 8 minutes, 15 seconds" recap posted here earlier...
[io9.com]
Here's a better clip of the LOST recap...
+ Watch video
I think the narrator's deadpan delivery is what sells it. I recently got a Samsung 40-inch HDTV, so I'm looking forward to April. I only wish I got SciFi in HD. Comcast = evil.
And I go Defamer > Consumerist > io9 > Kotaku (mostly because of a newfound interest in video games thanks to aforementioned TV)
I keep hearing All Along The Watchtower but it's some kind of techno mix. I'm not sure if that's a good sign or if I need to add more songs to my playlist.
Kotaku>io9>>>>>>>Lifehacker. That's it.
@Frozen-Tex: Seconded.
This is really fun except for that annoying monotone girl doing the narration.
I know it's supposed to be kinda Emo, kinda dead pan kitchy-cool with subtle comic, low-key overtones, but she just erks me.
She also did a "Lost: in eight minutes" Same treatment.
(I'm sorry to nitpick, and I usually don't, but her delivery just ass-chapping)
Talk about slow posting...
My comment was original when I wrote it. 5 minutes later, still not posting and half a dozen posts with similar comments appear before mine.
Just wanted to point that out before someone tells me to "Read all the posts before I run my mouth."
yo. i'm from [scifi.reddit.com]
just thought ya'll wanted to know.
loved the 8 min summary. funny. you can see the last 5 episodes of battlestar galactica on [hulu.com]
