Cancelled Sci Fi Channel show Farscape may make a comeback online. Star Ben Browder says he's into reprising the role of John Crichton for 10 webisodes, if executive producer Brian Henson and creator Rockne O'Bannon can work out the details. The writers' strike derailed these revival plans, but now Browder is eager to get back to them. [Sci Fi Wire]

I'd be interested in watching any official continuation of the Farscape story TPTB are into producing...
Webisdoes seem to be the best way to go about it, from a viability standpoint.
I cant wait! It was one of my favoritest shows ever!
I effin' hate webisodes.
I want to watch a tv show, not watch a computer show.
That and they'll be like 12 minutes long.
But, Farscape beggars can't be choosers, I guess.
@Plague: I agree, but any form of Farscape is a good form of Farscape. (Besides, I can just hook my laptop up to my TV and watch it that way.)
I loved the show as well, but can a webisode really do the series justice in terms of production values? I'd hate to have one of my all time favorite shows come back looking like rubbish.
@some_stupid_nut: I agree! One of my all-time fav shows.
@gtabacchi: Could be a way for SCIFI to test the waters and see if there is still interest in the show. A lot of hits on their webisode site may lead to a few 2-hour specials or mini-series in the near future.
I can only hope that this turns into a full fledge tv revival... yes I know I'm dillusional but I can dream can't I?
TMZ and Quarterlife want to be TV shows, Lost and Battlestar want webisodes... They all fail, the only ones left standing are television shows because TV is GOD.
FARSCAPE!!! Hellz yea. Maybe this time scifi will get their heads our of their asses and give the show an actual chance.
I'll take more Farscape any way I can get it.
win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win
Ahem.
Wow. I guess I now owe my soul to Satan. Eh -- it's worth it to see more Farscape!!
As founder of the Farscape Encyclopedia Project I've never been more excited about that chance to do more work.
EEEEEEE!!!!!!
(God, I just outdorked myself.... ugh.)
Looks like Scorpius managed to implant an exec at Scifi to do his bidding...
That will be a frellin' good time!!! I always liked Farscape because there was only one human - and he had to conform to alien standards. Most other sci fi shows always have everyone conforming to the human standard ideal - like Star Trek for instance. That doesn't mean Star Trek was bad, because I like it too, but it was a nice change. I really liked Aeryn Sun and loved Ben Browder's character so it will be good to see them again.
Anyway, between new John Crichton material and Captain Jack on Torchwood, my naughty fantasy life is quite good.
New content? A good start would be an in print, reasonable DVD edition of the original series. Go to Amazon and look for Farscape on DVD. I've only seen three episodes. The complete Andromeda with 50 DVDs goes for less than Amazon's best price for season 1, collection 1 of Farscape. The complete season 1 goes for almost $350.
It does seem to be available on Netflix, but I've had bad luck receiving very scratched DVDs for a lot of older material like this; I once had to return four consecutive Stargate DVDs due to either scratching or broken discs. It would be far better if a complete boxed set was available at a rational price.
I'd really like to see this, but with Dargo dead, I'm not as excited about it as I would have been.
Although any time spent watching Clauda Black is hardly wasted...
I'll be glad to get him back in a role that suits him. He and Claudia Black were just awful in Stargate SG-1, though most of the blame should go on the writers for that.
@loserface:
Very cool. So, Ben the cute space cowboy is going to be John-Cam again. Very nice.
Off topic: I really like his role in Staregate, Ark of Truth. Sam was great, the effects rocked.
I can't wait for more Farscape. Sure, it may only be a web series and it may have a corresponding web series budget, but what always sold me on the show was the characters. As long as they bring the same level of quality acting and writing as they did on the series, I think this will be great.
See, if we vote Scorpy in 08, this will happen! YES WE CAN!
See. webisodes can be good content. It just takes shortform writing, and I hope they get it right, cause I loved Farscape. The rumor I heard BTS [before the strike] was that they'd mostly follow D'Argo Sunn-Crichton. And if they do this, it can take a whole new format. And we'll see how they work it.
Does the happy dance all night long.
I love watching ben and claudia on stargate but that is ending and I didn't really like the last 10 minutes of the peacekeeper wars, it was way to lion king-ish. I would really like to know have happened after it ended to every one.
Idevittt, the bad guys will be back. The good guys will be back...somehow. That's fiction for you: anything is possible.
Someone mentioned that it was difficult to get the show on DVD. FWIW, it's available on iTunes. Not the same, I know, but better than nothing, perhaps.
Also, try public libraries. The Farscape library project tried to equip as many as possible with Farscape DVDs, back in the day.
Also - though admittedly complicated and expensive - non-American DVD sets may be an option. (If you don't have a region-free DVD player you can still play them on your computer's DVD drive, which can be manipulated so as to accept different region codes fairly easily.) There's a full series box set available from amazon.uk, for example, for a fairly reasonable price.
But yeah, it really is annoying that the show is apparently difficult to get in the U.S.
@Epaminondas:
D'Argo will be missed, but the same was said when Virginia Hey had to leave and Zhaan was killed off. But f anything, it gave opportunity for other characters to change or grow to fill void left.
And damnit, I'm owed another Maldis episode.
