In this morning's spoiler orgy, we reveal how Doctor Who season four ends, and give away an X-Files 2 development that the stars were willing to lie to protect. We also have some hints about Heroes and Smallville. And we unveil new plot details about Speed Racer and the Battlestar prequel Caprica, and reveal which mainstay from the Batman comics will have a major role in the new animated Gotham Knight DVD. We're reveling in spoilers, and you should too.
X-Files 2
So that scene in X-Files 2 where Mulder and Scully kiss? The one that David Duchovny swore at a press conference was just a hoax, staged to confuse the fans? Apparently, it's actually a real part of the movie, according to a new leaked call sheet, and it's towards the end. Also, Mulder cuts up a newspaper, and Scully goes over a toxicology report. Meanwhile, one fan has heard a crazy rumor: the movie will end by revealing that Mulder and Scully are actually one person. It totally makes sense! [X-Files News]
Battlestar Galactica
Here's a new official plot description for Caprica, the TV movie prequel to Battlestar Galactica that may launch a new series:
Set 50 years before Battlestar Galactica, Caprica follows two rival families - the Greystones and the Adamas - as they grow, compete, and thrive in the vibrant world of the 12 Colonies. Enmeshed in the burgeoning technology of artificial intelligence and robotics that will eventually lead to the creation of the Cylons, the two houses go toe-to-toe. Caprica will deliver all of the passion, intrigue, political backbiting, family conflict and hardcore action that always leaves Galactica fans begging for more.In other words, expect to see Bill Adama as a little kid. [Chicago Tribune]
Speed Racer:
Okay, I may just be slow, but I hadn't seen this detailed plot synopsis for Speed Racer before:
Born to race cars, Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) is aggressive, instinctive and, most of all, fearless. His only real competition is the memory of the brother he idolized—the legendary Rex Racer, whose death in a race has left behind a legacy that Speed is driven to fulfill. Speed is loyal to the family racing business, led by his father, Pops Racer (John Goodman), the designer of Speed's thundering Mach 5. When Speed turns down a lucrative and tempting offer from Royalton Industries, he not only infuriates the company's maniacal owner (Roger Allam) but uncovers a terrible secret—some of the biggest races are being fixed by a handful of ruthless moguls who manipulate the top drivers to boost profits. If Speed won't drive for Royalton, Royalton will see to it that the Mach 5 never crosses another finish line. The only way for Speed to save his family's business and the sport he loves is to beat Royalton at his own game. With the support of his family and his loyal girlfriend, Trixie (Christina Ricci), Speed teams with his one-time rival—the mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox)—to win the race that had taken his brother's life: the death-defying, cross-country rally known as The Crucible.I apologize if it's old news, but it was new to me. [JoBlo]
Meanwhile, real-life race-car driver Milka Duno appears in Speed Racer as Kellie "Gearbox" Kalinkov, a "Roo-ssian race car driver, very eccentric and aggressive." [PR USA]
Heroes
Heroes season three may finally reveal what Angela Petrelli's superpower is — and it's something dangerous and potentially harmful. Also, Angela probably won't get a boyfriend next season. But actress Christine Rose believes her character hooked up with both Linderman and Kaito Nakamura. In fact, Linderman may be Nathan and Peter's dad, while Angela may be Hiro's mom. Or maybe not. Also, Adam will be back within the first six episodes of the new season. [SyFy Portal]
Doctor Who
The new season apparently ends with Mickey walking away with Martha and Captain Jack... leaving the Doctor alone. But where's Rose? Has she already disappeared by this point? Or is she waiting in the TARDIS? (Actually, this spoiler makes me sort of hope Mickey joins Torchwood along with Martha. That would actually rule.) [Grunge Bunny]
And meanwhile a new article claims the Cybermen will be back once again, in this year's Christmas special. (I wasn't sure if they were doing a Christmas special this year, actually.) [TARDIS Newsroom]
Smallville
Smallville will kill off a major character on April 17, and he or she won't be coming back. It's someone who's been around since the first season, and who has never been presumed dead before. And the only thing more shocking than the death itself is the identity of the killer. (Has Pete Ross been presumed dead before?) [Comic Book Resources]
Batman: Gotham Knight
The animated DVD that accompanies the release of The Dark Knight, Batman: Gotham Knight, will feature one of my favorite Gotham characters, Crispus Allen — and he won't be a vengeful ghost, the way he is in the comics nowadays. Allen will be paired up with a cop named Anna Ramirez (not Renee Montoya, as in the comics) and the duo will appear in multiple segments and learn to trust Batman. Also appearing will be Cassandra, "a mystical Indian woman who teaches Bruce Wayne to endure and manage his pain." But who will manage our pain? [ComicMix]

Comments
Mickey on Torchwood would be awesome. He's a great character!
mmmm, spoiler orgy. i feel naughty.
Oh god, I hope they don't do the "Everyone is related" thing on "Heroes". That would probably kill the show for me.
Oh, and I hope Rose doesn't stick around. That would kill that show for me too.
On Smallville that leaves Lana or Chloe and I hope it's Lana.
Anna Ramirez, not Renee Montoya. (groans)
I'm struggling with how Brian Azzarello, who wrote atual Batman comics, chose to change the names here.
Seriously, why hasn't anyone just asked Angela what her power is at this point? Silly Petrellis.
I think Angela's power should be something not dangerous.
Like, she has the power to turn her skin purple, or the power to sweat a lot.
I feel like evolutionary dead-ends are what's missing from stories like Heroes and X-Men.
@t3knomanser: But, but, but it was so cool when Marvel decided that every black character had to be related, and took as far as to have Storm Marry Black Panther. The best part is the way they shoehorned in Gateway as an ancestor of Bishop.
@DeepFriar: But you see, now that Renee is a lesbian they need to distance themselves from that, because god forbid a cartoon have a character who, elsewhere in a different media type, is gay.
Also, that X-Files plot twist would be the best plot twist since Fight Club had the exact same plot twist.
Hmmm. Sounds like Caprica is going to be "Daaallaaas iiiinn Spaaaaace!" (not that that would be an entirely bad thing)
...but wait a second. Creation of the Cylons? I was under the impression that they'd been around for a century or more. I'm must not have been paying attention...('cause surly they wouldn't retcon it....Surely!)
Great. ANOTHER annoying Whiny McWhinerson character to join Torchwood. A few more and it'll be indistinguishable from "The View".
@Jim (The Canuck One):
Well maybe if they just started kissing each other on "The View" I'd start watching it. (.....then again..)
Er what kind of Rooshin name is Kellie? Sorry, but that Speed Racer movie is going to suck large, ha-ha ha-ha.
@Jesse Mrozowski:
Wasn't Chloe thought to have died in that house explosion earlier in the series?
Wasn't Lana thought to have been blown-up in her car earlier?
Lex was thought to be dead when he was on that island.
Lionel, he had a death scare too.
Hell, I guess the only ones who have not been thought dead are Pete, the Dog & Martha Kent
Look out Pete!
But it was explained in the comics/novel that Nathan and Peter's Dad served w/Linderman in Vietnam, so unless they want to go against their OWN established canon, how can they do that? I don't understand.
@Git Em SteveDave: That doesn't mean Linderman didn't go horizontal with their mom after the war though. Peter and Nathan look like post war babies to me. Unless the comic says that they were born before their dad went to war.
@t3knomanser: i'm more than willing to eat my words if it turns out not to be true but the fact the the oldest known 'hero' is called 'adam' is a pretty strong indicator that all the present day heroes are his descendants.
i'm not sure if i can trust my own instincts on speed racer. every time i hear anything about it that could be negative there's a voice inside my head that screams 'but it's speed racer, it will rock!' it's a lot like the voice in your head that screams 'but they're so damn hot' every time someone you're attracted to does something monumentally stupid and you're to turned on to notice.
so, getting to the point, can someone that isn't turned on by the mere mention of a speed racer movie give me a frank appraisal of that spoiler becuase i'm not sure i'm capable of making drawing any rational conclusions from it.
Whoever above called Caprica "Dallas in Space" is dead on.
How dull.
Is Moore the showrunner on this? How involved is the BSG creative team?
@ElijahDProphet: Well, in this chapter of the novel: [www.nbc.com], towards the end, we see the elder Patrelli w/ his wife and a small child. Since they were in Vietnam together around 1968, and this picks up after Vietnam, I'm guessing it should be Nathan we are seeing as he is the elder brother.
Mickey always kind of got on my nerves. He was too much of a whiner.
@tetracycloide: I had zero interest in Speed Racer, never seen the show even one time! And the trailer didn't do all that much for me though I did think it was pretty. But that spoiler did sound kinda cool to me.
@ManchuCandidate: what's going to be really fun is what kind of Russian accent she has, because she's Venezuelan, if i remember correctly (the stupid IndyCar season ended in September) one of the few things harder to understand why teams keep hiring her is her accent (an exaggeration of course, but how often do you get to use a line like that?)...
Sounds like this season of Doctor Who is going to be hard on the people left behind in the parallel universe. What about Pete Tyler, Mickey's grandmother, and Jake? (And Jackie?)
@ElijahDProphet: Or the cartoon could just not mention that the character is a lesbian. Maggie Sawyer appeared in the Superman Animated Series a few times, and the viewer did see her S.O. once. However, the relationship between the two women was never clarified in the animated series.
Scully and Mulder are one person? WTF! Anyway, thanks for the spoilers. I just peed myself a little.
I say just make Torchwood the adventures of the Doctor's companions as they guard the rift. Martha, Jack, Mickey, Adam, Sarah Jane, and another from way back. It couldn't help but be a hit.
How about they just make Torchwood about the adventures of the Doctor's companions as they guard the rift? Adam, Mickey, Rose, Martha, Jack, and Sara Jane. It'd be great
@Jesse Mrozowski: What about Martha Kent? It would be just like them to have her cameo one last time before (speculating here) she strays a little to closely into the path of a Green Arrow?
@Scooter: Alternate Earth Mickey FTW
@Zantor: Lex actually did die more times than that. Didn't Chloe bring him back once?
Kill Martha Kent? Why not make Superman's costume green and turn him into a chain smoking, chronic public masturbator?
The story needs Superman/Clark's love for his mom, to humanize his otherwise godly stature. In all the stories, his mom has always kept him grounded in the reality that human bonds, not superhuman powers, are what make the world go 'round.
Then again, given the dumbness with which current lazy-minded poorly-read producers treat the story, I'm surprised we haven't already seen Superman smoking six cigarettes at once while tossing his salad onto the tracks of the approaching A train.
They did make him a stalker and a creepy peeping tom wearing a dingy depressing version of his costume in the movie, after all. How far from there to a green cape? Maybe even a Welsh accent!
Clark kills Lana.
Is anyone else hoping Speed Racer includes a scene of Pops & Speed in a classic TV version argument: "Ha! I won't allow you to race, it's too dangerous! Ha Ha!" "Ha! I'm going to race anyway! Ha! And I'm going to Win, too! Ha Ha!"
@munkles: They've already killed "Pa" Kent & bundled "Ma" Kent off to the State House, why not just kill her, too? They could play it off as Clark has a "Dark Knight"-type trial of conscience, finally pulling through it with a realization that he needs to live for "Truth, Justice & the American Way."
hey io9 folks, I'm unsubscribing from the blog because spoiler posts get full feeds into google reader. I don't mind the spoiler posts, I just don't personally like reading spoilers. The below-the-fold works well on the website, I just wish you wouldn't feed the whole post into your RSS feed. It would be great if you did partial posts of spoiler tagged posts into RSS, where people would have to click through to the site to get the full post.
I know you're not going to cry over losing one reader, but I thought I would let you know. :)
@MrLister: One can only wish!
