Heroes nominated for a Hugo?
I guess every other entry was a sci fi channel movie of the week then.
@Plague: Yeah, they should have nominated one of those SciFi Channel movies like SNAKE or GIANT DOG or REALLY BIG TRUCK CONTROLLED BY ALIENS.
@Annalee Newitz: While SNAKE was good, I felt that it paled in comparison to TWO SNAKES.
Fogrive me for my ignorance.. and I really mean this honestly. How is Heroes nominated with fillms. What differentiates that with BSG? And as much as I liked Razor I gotta say that "Blink" was one of the best episodes of anything I've seen in a long time.
@Garrison Dean: The Hugos for Dramatic Presentation are divided into two categories, Short Form and Long Form (the dividing line is a run-time of 90 minutes). Thus single part episodes are Short Form, while two-parters are Long Form. I guess the Hugo voters figured that since every episode of Heroes was a cliffhanger it counts as Long Form, whereas most BSG eps are standalones.
Whatever the reasoning, I think it's pretty stupid since the impetus for creating Long Form and Short Form was that really great episodes of Buffy, Firefly, Deep Space Nine, etc. would be left off the ballot in favor of the latest Star Wars or Harry Potter film.
@braak: Is "TWO SNAKES II" out yet?
@SeanOHara: Fair 'nuff. Thanks.
Wow, Who is running over the short-form category. "Blink" truly was brilliant.
@Grey_Area: It was pre-empted so they could make TWO SNAKES VERSUS DINOSAUR.
