Photoimagist Carl Warner depicts what the apocalypse and beyond might look like in a captivating series of food shots staged to look like scenery. In this piece, a black olive-and-watermelon ship sails through a sea of cabbage seeking revenge on vegetarians who have virtually annihilated the entire fruit and vegetable population. More vegetable landscapes below.

Once our world is annihilated, the planet will be occupied by giant mushrooms. Not hard to guess what foodstuff he used to make this one. And could this image, below, be a broccoli paradise?

And by "postapocalyptic annihilation" you mean, one image is blue. The rest look like Smurf Village, Candyland, an Alpine village, or Tuscan hillsides.
@Tim Faulkner: A world of mushrooms is pretty apocalyptic to me, as a is a world of broccoli. So speak for yourself, man.
Man, all these Veggies.. Anyone have any Cheese?

Man, lookin' at these paintings makes me feel like I'm totally cheesing right now.
I liked Mushroom world. I think they're all quite pretty.
Vegetables are dangerous. Giant vegetables are....I can't even finish the sentence.
In envisioning post-apocalyptic worlds I could never imagined something so bleak.

Take a wok on the wild side.
Beware the feral ginger.
Hey, those broccolli look like Tum-Tum trees!
verily i say unto you, at the end of days when man has passed the legumes will inherit the earth
So long as they don't have land of giant asparagus, as i can't imagine the smell that would produce.
@Annalee Newitz: I, for one, welcome our vegetable and fungal overlords!
