We've all been there before: You're all ready to go in your flouncy white dress to the latest Star Wars cosplay party, but your Princess Leia outfit isn't complete without that distinctive headphones hairstyle. But you shaved your head the day before! What is a bald Leia-wannabe to do? Thankfully, craft site Etsy is here to help... as long as you have "2 skeins of Misti Alpaca Chunky, 100% baby Alpaca fiber yarn" handy.
For only $7.95, you too can knit yourself into a Carrie Fisher frame of mind, thanks to Etsy member Ansley Bleu. That's the price of a special knitting pattern for a "Leia wig hat," able to transform even the least coke-addled starlet amongst us into Debbie Reynolds' wild child princess from Alderaan.
Ansley, based in LA, has managed to get the best celebrity endorsement for her work - Not only has Carrie Fisher herself seen the hat, she's worn it onstage as part of a one-woman show about her life. It really doesn't get any better than that.

...Or you could just stick two Cinnabons to the sides of your head. People might giggle at you less AND you'd smell delicious!
I could see it for a little girl but not a grown woman.
HONEY! Looks like Thurs. is changing from Pirate night back to A New Hope... I got this hat and I'm getting the rust off your old Leia bra top now!

I challenge that notion - [cgi.ebay.com]
Sheep and Leia... YAY! this combines my two biggest fantasies.
@Miranda Kali: Just don't walk by the coffee machine at work with Cinnabon rolls stuck to your head, or you might find a conga line of co-workers follwing you back to your cube.
Coming soon: the Deanna Troi beehive/photon cannon!
@NefariousNewt:
What? The scruffy looking, nerf hearders? I can deal with them.
What if I only have 2 skins of chunky baby Alpacas named Misti? Will this still work for me?
@NefariousNewt: From the same folks who brought you the "Delen Headbone Heaphones!"
The potential for nerdy kink has just grown exponentially. Very interesting....
@IntoAshes: Kotaku still has IO9 beat this week [kotaku.com]
If only I'd hat this hat when I was living in Boston, I wouldn't have had to buy earmuffs. All hail geek earmuffery.
but alpaca aren't sheep - they are camelids, kind of a smaller, friendlier, finer-wooled llama (those big, spitting, coarse-wooled llamas are sometimes used as alpaca guards!). i have awesome alpaca fingerless gloves. great for those outside fine motor ability commanding tasks, like harnessing up horses n shit.
Those would provide excellent grip.
I believe the Headline you're looking for is:

You're welcome.
@DeepFriar: What do they have against C cups?

I actually really like this hat! That way, you can rock the Leia look even in the winter when you're not cosplaying. :)
Where's the Yeoman Rand Baskethair Hat?
What the Princess Leia fetishists really need is a wig-hat that can be multiply-configured to match every hairdo in the movie. I dare someone to invent that!
