Earlier this week, you read our take on the Battlestar Galactica panel at this year's New York Comic-Con, but now - thanks to NBC/Universal's Hulu - you can watch it for yourself. And, also thanks to the wonder of the internet, you can read just why panel moderator Marc Bernadin stayed away from the tough questions. Both of those, plus the exclusive NYCC Venture Bros. preview, under the jump.
Over at Entertainment Weekly's Popwatch blog, Bernadin explained his journalistic outlook about moderating the panel:
It's not a time for hardcore investigative journalism. Whoever is on the panel — and this time, I had three of the final five Cylons (Michael Trucco, Rekha Sharma, and Michael Hogan, pictured) — can't answer the tough questions. And the last thing I want is for them to get stone-lipped and reticent in front of a packed house. Silence is deadly. So I've gotta offer them questions that they can answer at length while being both interesting and non-revelatory. In other words, cheat the crowd without them being upset about it.Judge for yourself whether or not you feel cheated:
And that's not all, in terms of NYCC-exclusive material that's now making its way online: Almost all of DC Comics' panels are available as audio podcasts from their site, and much more entertainingly, the brand new Venture Bros footage has also made its way online:
It's just like being there! But without the crowds, unpleasant body odors and having to deal with thousands of people wearing Skrull masks!

Probably the only show I'm looking forward to, besides more BSG, is the Venture Bros.
Grrr! No streaming video at work makes Miranda a dull girl..and angry, too! Miranda smash!
Uhg. Just have to wait till I get home, blast it.
Go Team Venture!
Yay Team Venture, but thanks to Canada City rules, I won't see it till nine months later.
Oh! So giddy, I forgot to squeal about the return of Doctor Killinger!
@ManchuCandidate: Bittorrent is your friend.
I was at the Battlestar panel and I think Marc did a good job of balancing out the secret-preserving parameters SciFi probably set for him, and the need to keep the crowd entertained. Maybe I was sated because I went expecting to get no other information about what's coming down the pike on BSG than the proverbial promise that whatever happens, it'll make me go "HOLY SHIT!"
@Miranda Kali: +1 to work blocking streaming media, eff that noise.
@Gyrus: Seconded. One of my favorite quotes was "Can we just short this here to get a couple more Ohms or something"
The IT dept. has blocked us from watching videos...
DICK MOVE!!!!!!!
@Log1c: When confronted by someone spouting nonsense, I think to myself, "I dare you to make less sense!"
@Gyrus: Should have prefaced my comment with "Warning Engineering humor to follow"
@ManchuCandidate: I can actuallly direct you to a site that will have links to it on Veoh and possibly youtube.
manchu, I sent the link via private message. Not surIe if you got it or not, for I have never used the PM function on a Gawkersite.
Man, that pic of a jovial Michael Hogan is freaking me out. Col. Tigh! Laughing!
@Ravac:
Diversity. The true sign of the consummate actor.
I'd like to see him do something at the opposite end of the spectrum, next. I'm sure comedy might be refreshing after the intensity of BSG.
Damn, Hulu's blocked for me here in Canadia. So yes, I feel ripped off, especially considering that BSG is by and large FILMED here in the great white north.
@clevermonkey: Blame NBC Universal, and SkyOne while you're at it. If Sky had kept producing the show, the eps would be longer on the DVDs and more sexual and... well, possibly better.
@aspiringexpatriate: There'd also be less of them perseason, which Ron Moore would hate, but you know, might be better for a show to not demand 20 episodes a year.
cool, they seem to be bring back Col. Hunter Gathers, or at least showing some back story.
Sigh. Once again, whoever lives outside of the US can't watch this clip from NBC/SciFi/etc. Do these kinds of geographical viewing limitations really make sense on the internet? (No.)
New Venture Brothers in a little more than a month!
AND the next Futurama movie, too!
GO TEAM VENTURE!
@tiemposbuenos: yes definately
they also blocked veiwing of [adult swim].com too.
