Are you ready for absolute knowledge? At the risk of breaking your brain, we're going to bombard you with insane spoilers — including the names of two surprising guest stars in Doctor Who. We also give away the secret superpower of a new Heroes character, and a key scene in the pilot for Joss Whedon's programmable-amnesiac-agent show Dollhouse. Not only that, but we glimpse the Lost season finale. And there are new pics from X-Files 2, Spectacular Spider-Man and Charlie Kaufman's Synecdoche, New York. Spoilers on the march!
X-Files 2:
Here are some new stills from July's X-Files: I Want To Believe, including a canoodly looking moment between Mulder and Scully. So much for the official "the-kissing-scene-was-fake" line. Unless this is just more misinformation, which I doubt. [Slashfilm]
Synecdoche, New York:
Here's one new pic from Charlie Kaufman's new film Synecdoche, New York, featuring Catherine Keener and Philip Seymour Hoffman. [Slashfilm again]
Heroes:
That new character on Heroes you heard about? The impulsive girl named Joy? She's a villain whose superpower is super-speed, like The Flash. She meets Hiro in an art museum. He asks her if she has a superpower, and whether she's trying to steal some art. She convinces poor gullible Hiro that she's legit... and then runs off with a bunch of paintings. [E! Online]
Dollhouse:
Dollhouse did a two-day location shoot, mostly at night, at a Spanish Mission Revival-style house in L.A.'s Miracle Mile district, which doubles as FBI agent Paul (Tahmoh Penikett)'s apartment, where he first meets Eliza Dushku's Echo, and they have their first fight scene. Paul is obsessed with finding out about the Dollhouse, and becomes a sort of love interest for Echo. [E! Online again]
Lost:
The first installment of the three-hour Lost finale, airing May 15, features the beginning of "the face-off between the survivors and the freighter people." [Spoilers Lost]
Also, there's a super-secret scene coming up involving Sawyer, which is the "game-changer" that leads to the end of those flash-forwards. And Kearny survives at least until the first part of the season finale. Also, Charlotte has a "big, crazy scene" with someone interesting in the next episode. [E! Online again]
And here are some photos from the season finale. Looks like Sun and Kate take turns holding Aaron. [Doc Arzt]
Doctor Who:
The Doctor Who season finale will not only feature returning companions Rose, Martha, Sarah Jane, Captain Jack, Mickey and Jackie — it'll also co-star Gwen and Ianto from Torchwood. That prediction is supposedly included in the new issue of England's Death Ray magazine, but I can't read it online. (If you're in the UK and have a copy, can you email me?) Also, the magazine claims that Davros is back, and we'll visit the Dalek's homeworld of Skaro (which has been destroyed, like, twice now.) [Science Fiction Fantasy Chronicles]
And once again, Digital Spy is releasing a mixture of real and fake spoilers for Saturday's episode. I'm guessing it's true that Donna's mom wields an axe, we see some of the Sontarans' arch-enemies (the Rutans) in a flashback, UNIT prepares a nuclear strike, Donna punches the real Martha thinking she's the fake one, and Sergey Brin has a "mating program" for his baby geniuses. [Doctor Who Insania]
Spectacular Spider-Man:
Here's what Doctor Octopus will look like on this Saturday's Spectacular Spider-Man:

It's....it's not really rumor if there's an actual picture of it, is it?
I mean, the picture is the substantiation, so it can't be a picture of something that remains unsubstantiated, because the very act of taking a picture of it...never mind.
@braak: Oh, whoah, nevermind for real. I totally misread that.
Sorry, sorry.
PS- When are they going to give me a button that lets me *remove* my own comments?
Alas, poor Claire.
@braak: i often wonder the same thing. posting another comment that says "I take it back! I take it back!" isn't quite the same.
I'm sorely tempted to play the "Guess which spoiler is fake?" game with Doctor Who.
My money's on the boy genius having a mating program. Why would he want to perpetuate the human race if he's helping the Sontarans to destroy it
Also, I call shenanigans on the Doctor Who season finale rumor! Why would Jack want to share the Doctor aspect of his life with the remaining members of Torchwood? Plus, that sort of hyped up crossover sounds too much like a fanboy's wet dream to be true. I'd like to think RTD has some dignity left.
Mulder + Scully = OTP!
Seriously, Chris Carter. Throw me a frickin' bone, here...
@CMG: Yeah, really; my shame is still visible.
That Mulder and Scully pic is AMAZING.It's an all-time classic still!I don't care what anyone says, it just made my stomach turn over.Just watched the surreptitiously filed teaser/trailer/whatever again on YT and I just can't wait for this film.I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS FILM!!!!!!!!!!!
@Calraigh: Huh. It's funny; from here, it looks like you have roots.
Ianto and Gwen. Blergh! I'm hoping they don't get too many lines.
Gillian Anderson must be standing on a plastic crate in that pic. Duchovny is just over 6' tall and Anderson is 5'2". Unless she's wearing 8 inch heels.
I think it's no surprise that Mulder and Scully get it on in this movie. While a TV series wants teases the viewer into watching the next show by never consumating the romance, a movie has to pull out the big guns to get more people to see it NOW. I think I read on this site that Joss Whedon (Chris Carter's doppleganger) said "TV shows are about questions. Movies are about answers." I think that applies to the X-Files movie.
I question the headline. Mulder and Scully canoodling is "startling"? What the heck *else* were they gonna do in the movie? I'd be much more surprised if they weren't all shnuggly.
Though they did totally blow the consummation thing on the tv show. I know! They should reset-button the last season (or hell, why not seasons 7-9 and occasional dabs of 6) into oblivion and just try again. There is NO suspense to watching near-miss kisses between a couple that already has a six-year-old.
@braak: Eh, wha'?
Dropped penny, I think. No, I'm not a plant.I'm very much a private individual with an individual interest.Does my reply cover your comment?
So superspeed trumps time stopping?
@Calraigh: Well, it was half a joke, at least. Sorry if I gave offense. I was just surprised by the level of enthusiasm.
It's sad that such a thing can bring out bitter skepticism in me; sad for myself, and sad for the world...
No hard feelings?
@braak: Don't be ree-diculous!I also am joking.Egads, we have to be careful these days, no?How does one correctly be sarcastic/funny/teasing in comment-speak without invoking the wrath of the commentariat?(I do love that word though, it appeals to the soviet in me...)
However I will fall on my sword for anything X-FIles related and I do think that that photo is a classic.A still any photographer should be proud of.I mean, it's...it's the Holy Grail of 'shipperdom...it's... oh you don't unnerstand!!!!
I do like your avatar though..Soft feelings, will you take them?
Damn, I submitted that before I completed my thought. I have a problem w/Hiro's power. Why is it when it's convienant, it works, but when it would really help him out, it doesn't. Like if he encountered someone who was stealing paintings, just go back a few minutes until you see her enter, then freeze time and tie her up.
@Calraigh: Done! Hurrah! Once again, the internet has made friends of us all!
@braak: Fabooo-lus.I will be following your every word from this moment on!
I think it'd be amusing to listen in on all of the Doctor's companions sharing notes about him. "D'ya hear him snorin'?" "How d'ya not?" *cackling* "What d'ya think he does with that sonic scredriver when he locks himself in the bathroom then?" *Doctor blushes sheepishly*
@braak: The ability to delete your own posts can get confusing, when you're reading someone's reply to an original comment, and that original comment has been deleted, leaving a poor orphan response just hanging out there with no clue as to what it's a response to. If that makes any sense.
Although a post-posting 'edit' ability would be teh shweet.
Edited to add: It would look like this, appended to the original post, to clarify or redact, automatically prefaced with "Edited to add:".
On "Lost," the name of the character is Keamy, not Kearny. Kearny is the name of a county in Kansas.
If those rumors of all the cameos for the finale of Doctor Who are true, then I am psyched...since I am going through some post season 2 Torchwood withdrawal. Blasted UK short seasons... ;)
