I love this rather dignified and early-twentieth-century-looking portrait of Zoidberg from Futurama. It's by Federico Piatti, an illustrator who posted it at the ever-bountiful Gorilla Artfare blog. Most of Piatti's work is fantastical, and he does amazing images of heroic rodents that must be seen to be appreciated. [Gorilla Artfare]

With my dying breath, I curse ZOIDBERG!!!!
And Zoidberg why not?
"Ooh Zoidberg at last you are becoming a crafty consumer. I'll take eight."
His eyes are freaking me out.
That is ADORABLE.
my fav character from futurama!!
"Friends, help! A guinea pig tricked me!"
Wooboobooboobooboob!
I can just imagine how bad a shellfish creature would smell? I like Bender's suggestion that he be cooked like a lobster.
Craw!
Love it. Zoidberg is the best Futurama charater hands down.
Now Zoidberg is the popular one!
now who's intimidating who, big city?!
You still have Zoiiiiidberg! YOU ALL HAVE ZOIDBERG~!
This is more impressionist than expressionist, though it could be argued that it is simply realist and painterly.
Once again, the conservative, sandwich-heavy portfolio pays off for the hungry investor.
"To induce vomiting, THAT was the solution! E-E-Everywhere it went!!"
"People are paying attention to Zoidberg! Hooray!!"
"What? It's not even scratch and sniff? But if rich people think it's good, I'll buy it. One art, please!"
Seriously, though, is it possible to buy a print of this?
Hooray for Zoidberg!
Why are you labeling this expressionist instead of impressionist?
@JoshJasper: Because I was thinking of famous expressionist painters like Egon Shiele [[en.wikipedia.org]] who have a lot of portraits with this sort of scratchy, frenetic feel to them. It didn't feel soft or gooey enough to me to be impressionist. But I could go either way.
@OP: That's DOCTOR Zoidberg to you. :p
Fantastic. What a great tribute to a great man... or something. I smiled so much upon seeing this on io9, because Zoidberg's my fave character. Witty charm, awkward persistence with crushes, and an inversed knowledge of the human anatomy - what's not to love?
There's also this mosaic:

Wow, I didn't know so many people loved Zoidberg. I personally think he's an unfortunate blight on an otherwise stellar show.
Nice painting, though.
