The new Dark Knight trailer is finally up for the masses in HD. As we reported, this trailer gives you the first glimpse of the new Batman bad boy, in all his alarming, grisly greatness. And we have some images of this villain's previous appearances, for comparison purposes.
The dashing White Knight of Gotham, Harvey Dent, appears to have it all in this trailer. Looks, integrity and the Dark Knight's lady Rachel Dawes. I can't wait until he loses it all with a face full of acid.
In an interview to the LA Times actor Aaron Eckheart leaked a bit of information on what the disfigured DA will be like:
I can tell you that, basically, when you look at Two-Face, you should get sick to your stomach. Being the guy under all that, well, that was a lot of fun for me. It's like you would feel if you met someone whose face had pretty much been ripped off or burned off with acid. I can't talk about it beyond that because I don't want to give away too much of the plans by Chris.Here's the first screen grab of Two-Face along with a few other past character representations of Two-Face from the ghosts of Batman's past.
Take a gander at the burnt flesh along his nose, to quote The Riddler inBatman Forever , "That's never going to heal if you don't stop picking."
Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face Batman Forever (1995). The only part I thought was interesting to this interpretation were the girlfriends for his duo-personalities Sugar (Drew Barrymore) and Spice (Debi Mazar).
Two-Face in Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1994)
Two-Face on the cover of Batman Annual #14(1990).
Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent Batman (1989)
It's a shame we never got to see what Billy Dee could have done for the character of Two-Face. He could have really added a little pizazz to the part with his attitude and fancy boutonniere. Besides who doesn't want to see Two-Face sport a mustache (I bet the evil side's mustache would have been pencil thin).
One of the few Two-Face covers from the Detective Comics where he was introduced (1942).

Didn't Bill Dee already give us a two faced performance in Star Wars?
It's really refreshing to see so little CGI in a super-hero movie trailer. Really excited.
Will we ever get a decent comic book movie sequel that doesn't fall into the "the more villains, the better" trap?
as tragic as Heath's death is, there is a part of me that really want Mark Hamill to play the joker down the road.
Actually, Billy Dee Williams was never destined to play Two-Face.
In the original comics, Harvey Dent was introduced as a black man. When he returned as Two-Face, he had somehow morphed into a white man. Therefore, the movies follow comic continuity quite well. :P
Also, @DeepFriar: I'm still holding out hope for Adrien Brodie.
I bet the evil side's mustache would have been pencil thin.
Now come on, we all know an evil mustache must be a big honking handlebar, waxed into a curl, Salvidor Dali style.
@Benjo:
I'm pretty sure it's just a setup for the next movie RE: Dent. At least, that's what I've heard.
Does anyone else see any resemblance betweeen Two Face from the 1990 Annual and Clint Eastwood?
@Benjo:
I wouldn't call two villains a "lot".
Especially since one of them isn't a villain for most of the film.
Two Face in Batman Forever was one of the greatest failures of the franchise. He could have been so much more in that film, two-face is such a complex villain.
I am so glad that they have gotten another chance to redo this character. On the animated show, Two-Face was an amazing villain due to his divided loyalties. I hope they do the same here.
I bought the Lando Mighty Muggs yesterday. I heart Billy Dee.
There's one really spoileriffic cut in that trailer.
Can't wait.
interesting to see the Detective Comice cover...scared right side...butever since then it's been the left side...must be something to that....right = "right", left handed people being freaks etc...
I think this trailer is ridiculous in the worst kind of Hollywood way. Explosions, explosions, explosions. The first one had interesting characters, and maybe this one will too, but you'd never know it from this mess, which looks like a class of 5th grade boys cut it together.
I really hope the movie is better than it looks like it will be. It reminds me of Joel Schumacher, but on downers.

Don't forget Tim Sale's gruesome rendition from THE LONG HALLOWEEN, one of the best Bat stories of the past twenty years.
Which Nolan has said was an influence on DARK KNIGHT's script, and Bale has said is one of his favorite comix ever. Oh, and don't worry about Harvey's lines being spoilers - he's INSANE!
@danwaterhouse: Admit it. Deep down in a place you dont talk about at parties you want the explosions; you need the explosions.
Not everything can be art house.
@danwaterhouse:
This trailer upped the ante.
UPPED!
The cartoon version of Two-Face is the best version outside of the comic books by far, but Aaron Eckhart's version looks like it has potential :)
@Plague:
The first one was like ka-kow, but this one is like KA-KOW!
@OW-Holmes: If only you knew me and knew how funny that comment is. I haven't seen an art house in..well..ever. I watched Pan's Labyrinth with the bottom of the screen covered in cheese cloth while a neighbor who speaks Spanish whispered all the dialogue and voice-overs to me in English. Dark Knight is art house for me.
