The top secret government files of a purple alien, Prometheus, teaching the slightly slow caveman, Bob, are easily among the best science fiction comedy shorts in claymation history. According to the announcer, these tapes were recorded over 900,000 years ago by an alien using a remote controlled camera. See how Prometheus and Bob explain how a polar bear could have ended up on Lost's island.
This claymation short aired in 1996 on Nickelodeon's Kablam segment (you may also remember Action League Now). All of the shorts have Prometheus teaching Bob to do the simplest things such as, dress, use the restroom, build a shelter and survive. Every episode usually ends with Prometheus getting hit in the head with something. But it's Bob's sweet nature and Prometheus' never-tiring patience (especially when Bob knocks him unconscious and he and the monkey take Prometheus' clothes) that makes these shorts truly memorable.
Check out the Prometheus and Bob fan site for all 39 episodes.

All the way back in 1966? Wow, Nickelodeon's been around longer than I thought.
Prometheus and Bob was hilarious! I love the old school Nick shows.
I LOVED KaBlam! My favorite segment was Sniz and Fondue, but Bob and Prometheus were usually good for a chuckle, too.

Methinks that you missed your dyslexia pill for today...
its 1-9-9-6.
This was right around the time Nickelodean started to lose its appeal for me, but these shorts made me laugh every time.

Kablam was a great show. I watched it specifically for Action League Now but no one could resist Prometheus & Bob.

Nope, not me. My RSS feed still shows 1966. They fixed the typo in the post.

But apparently not my ability to hit the reply button.
From my RSS client: "This claymation short aired in 1966 on Nickelodeon's Kablam segment"
This show had real creativity. Cartoons today have a hard time beating the oldies
Damn, Kablam is from 96? I was seeing episodes of it like 2 years ago on Cartoon Network.
