The greatest Doctor Who star of them all, Christopher Eccleston, is playing a villain in the new G.I. Joe movie, and the first image of him without his mask has been released. There are also new pictures of Heavy Duty, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who will always be revered as Mr. Eko from Lost. Known for his love of explosives and weapons we all know that all triple A really needs is a big stick and that scary as hell crazy eye to take down any amount of Vipers in his path, as long as they don't control some sort of M.A.R.S. smoke monster. And then there's a new image of Storm Shadow, a super ninja. After the jump a full gallery of the new crew.

Best Cobra Commander Ever.
Where is the silver head?

Storm Shadow: Not the smartest ninja, but never gets hit while riding his bike at night.
NICE CATCH NINO BLANCO. TOO BAD YOUR ASS GOT SSSSAAAAACKED.
Wait, Eccleston is Destro? Who's he playing second fiddle to?
Nerd Battle!!!!!
I didn't like Eccleston nearly as much as I like Tennent.
Now get out of the way, I need my inhaler and tooth-straightening headgear.
Mr Eko with a minigun... Just have him stand and shoot that for an hour and a half while reading the phone book and you've got a hit in my book.
Eccelston is Cobra Commander? I'm suddenly far more interested in seeing this movie.
(even if I must vehemently disagree about his top Doctor rank...I'd place him third below Tennant and Tom)
er, the "greatest Doctor Who of them all" is actually Tom Baker, but thanks for playing.
No, folks, Eccelston is Destro -- Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Cobra Commander. I have no idea how that's going to work out, but there you have it.
Also, I would pay $10 to watch Mr. Eko sit in a chair for 2 hours. Give him a machine gun and I'll be at back-to-back screenings of this movie, no matter how genuinely crappy it is.

@Miranda Kali: No - Eccleston is Destro.
Joseph Gordon Levitt is Cobra Commander.
@Miranda Kali: Agreed. If he'd have stayed around longer he would've gone up in my book, but I guess cameoing on Heroes was more important and somehow less nerdy.
Christopher Eccleston is in this movie? No matter who he's playing, you can colour me intrigued...
::smells catfight about Doctor rankings, comes running::
I'm getting a little sick of Tennant and didn't have the opportunity to get sick of Eccleston, so he wins. I miss you Nine!!!
::runs away again::
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will always be revered as Adibese from Oz. Fixed.
Storm Shadow=Lee Byung Hun of JSA (Joint Security Area) directed by Park Chan Wook of Oldboy fame.
Also in the western, The Good, The Bad and The Weird (2008)

@everyone: Ecc is absolutely the greatest Doctor of all time. Wanna make something about it? ;)
Greatest Doctor Who ever? I somehow doubt that. Baker and Tennant are vying for that distinction. "Greatest Doctor that brought the show back after a long hiatus and then jumped ship for no apparent reason"; now that's Chris Eccleston.
PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON! PATRICK TROUGHTON!
@apronk: Joseph Gordon Levitt is Cobra Commander? You lie!
*looks it up*
You don't lie!
Cobra Commander is 12 years old? (Actually 27 y.o., but whatever.)

@froggy:
What will it be? Nerf Phasers at twenty paces? Lightsabers? ...Or shall we all just throw on the Hulk Fists for a all out battle royale.
I vote for the 8th doctor!
@Priam: just kidding.
@froggy: EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!
Meh. Eccleston overacted like the Doctor on Meth.
Baker may not be a hottie like Tennant, but he was funny, quirky and not over-the-top excited all the time. I'd follow him anywhere.

@92BuickLeSabre: I guess Seth "Scott Evil" Green was unavailable.
COLIN BAKER!!!
ok just kidding. but seriously i didn't think he was all that bad at first...until i just started watching 'the twin dilemma.' i'm only half way through it yet i fucking cringe every time he opens his mouth.
Eccleston was god damn awesome though.
I can't wait to hear the hand-wringing and the whining about this before it comes out. Just like Speed Racer.
Apply directly to your forehead: It's movie based on a cartoon. It's a movie based on a cartoon.
Oh, as for the doctor?
The silly, silly uninformed youth of today.
Baker. How is this point even arguable?
"and the first image of him without his mask has been released"
suprisingly HE LOOKS LIKE CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON!!!!
@mr_bigglesworth: I thought he looked kinda like Liam Neeson, actually.
@mr_bigglesworth: I thought he looked more like the Doctor than he did when he was on Doctor Who. At least he's got the funny tie.
@bonniegrrl: Me too with the following and the anywhere.
Is that tie-tack thing supposed to harken back to classic Destro's crazy disco pendant? If so, then well played, childhood-rapers. Well played.
Eccelston was a good doctor, but better than Tennant, better than tom Baker?? nooo way
I was sold at "mini gun"...
@StrangelyBrown: It does hurt to have our childhood menories strip mined, doesn't it? Sometimes I wonder if anything is "sacred" any more. Where's my Hong Kong Fu movie?
@Tim Faulkner: Yeah, he'll always be Adibese with the little hats to me... everyone from Oz will always be their character from Oz to me, no matter how many episodes of Law & Order they are in.
@smcallah:
That's gotta make watching the Spiderman movies an odd experience. Or Juno.
God, Juno through that lens is really... different.
@Belabras: That was one of the best things about the Spider-Man movies to me.
I kept thinking, "J. Jonah ShillinGER, not Shilling-er!"
@Annalee Newitz: Some day Eccleston will grow floppy hair and then everyone will be retroactively happy.
@smcallah: Indeed. But how they kept that hat on Adibese's head at all times (even when he was "brutalizing" guys) is still a mystery to me!
I have a hard time seeing Levitt as an effective cobra commander though. And for the record, I think Baker was #1 and Ecc was #2 in his shortlived year.
Strom Shadow with tuxedo tails?!?! BWAHAHAHAHA!
I have met Chris Eccleston very briefy in what used to be termed 'real life' and can exclusively reveal that his ass is both narrow and flat. Nice guy though.
My vote for "Best Doctor" goes to Joanna Lumley's "Curse of Fatal Death" Doctor. Screw canon.
he was a fantastic doctor
Please indicate he is playing DESTRO not COBRA COMMANDER.
Hell, my favourite is Tennant, but even I regard Tom Baker as The Greatest Ever. If Tennant doesn't pull an Eccleston (hehe) he might become the new Baker, though. Baker is so ingrained in the popular consciousness as one of the most iconic sci-fi characters in history (and it is his form everyone remembers - just see his cameos in The Simpsons for evidence).
It would take many years for anyone to replace him.
I would rather see him playing Cobra Commander. Than the 3rd Rock kiddie.
@apronk: My 2nd favorite Doctor Who and the cutest boy in the world in the same movie? I am starting camping out for tickets, like, now.
@froggy: No, I don't want to make something of it, cos you're absolutely right :D
Eccleston and Adawale? I don't care if the movie totally sucks. I'll be sitting there with my drool bib on.
