Animal Collective's "Peacebone" music video from the Strawberry Jam album is a perfect example of musicians embracing their inner scifi-ness. It's the classic story: monster meets girl, monster and girl fall in love, girl has surprise for monster, and then the two do what every young couple in love does: smash mailboxes with bats.
