Click to viewEarlier this week, I got a chance to sit down with Dave Filoni, director of the Clone Wars movie coming out next Friday, and ask him some burning questions about the new animated flick and TV series. Most importantly, I asked how the clones in the series are going to overcome their programming and become individuals. After all, they are all going to go into brainwashed zombie mode and kill their Jedi leaders when they receive "Order 66" in Revenge of the Sith. Filoni's answer was interesting — not only did he hint that there might be other "orders" in the clones' minds ala The Manchurian Candidate, but he also hinted that some clones might have romances.
I also asked Filoni about what kinds of super-powers the Jedi might have — and if you're a fan of the Expanded Universe, his answer might surprise you.
Finally, I asked what war movies inspired the crew making Clone Wars, which is at its heart basically a war film. Here's what Filoni had to say.
