As we announced last week, io9 is seeking two interns for fall. An intern works 10 hours per week doing research, fact-checking, and contacting sources in the science and entertainment industries for story ideas and information. You must be detail-oriented, obsessed with science fiction/science, and able to work very quickly. Most interns have a chance to write for the site. See below for more details.
Day-to-day, the job involves seeking out story ideas and helping editors gather more data for stories they're working on. You must be available via IM to do work at least 10 hours/week. We would like at least one intern to be local to the NYC area, so nearness to NYC is a plus. Send us your resume and URLs for three samples of your writing by Sept. 1. These are paid internships. Sorry, you must be 18 or over to apply. Send materials to fallintern@io9.com.
