TV's New Heroes Get Naked To Save The World

The fall TV season is here at last. We were barely scraping by on our tiny allowance of scifi shows since last spring's season ended way too early. But now, get ready for J.J. Abrams' Fringe, a new season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the techno-vampires of HBO's True Blood, and more new Stargate. What else do you have to look forward to? Well, Eureka has a new superhero in town.

Monday:

Find out what happened to Summer Glau's nail-painting, ballet-dancing Terminator after the shocking last few seconds of last year's finale. The season premiere of the The Sarah Connor Chronicles also promises to show John Connor growing up at last, and Shirley Manson as an evil corporate CEO. That's on Fox at 8 PM.

Anime series Gurren Lagann airs at 11 and 11:30 on the Sci Fi Channel.

The Sci Fi Channel's private dick Charlie Jade meets the evil puppet master who answers some questions on Charlie's quest to uncover a futuristic murder mystery in "The Enemy of my Enemy," at 3 AM.

Movies:

TBS is showing Arachnophobia at 2:30 AM.

Tuesday:

There's a Doctor Who all day marathon on the Sci Fi Channel starting at 8 AM and ending at 4 PM.

Meet your new Scooby Gang: FBI agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv), crazy mad scientist Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), and his smarty pants gambler son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson). This group heads up J.J. Abrams' new series Fringe and premieres on Fox at 8 PM. The first episodes brings the group together to solve the mystery behind a virus that makes your skin translucent, then kills you.

A new superhero has started "helping" our favorite sheriff in the genius town of Eureka, in the all new episode "Phased and Confused" on the Sci Fi Channel at 9 PM.

The Next Big Bang breaks down what the Large Hadrom Collider aims to discover, and how this $10 billion contraption came about, on the History Channel at 12 AM.

Movies:

Batman & Robin is on TBS at 12:30 AM, do a shot every time Batman Clooney looks smarmy, and you'll be passed-out in no time.

Wednesday:

In this week's Mythbusters, Adam and Jamie try out their own big bang theories at 9 PM on the Discovery Channel.

Thursday:

Two fantastic marathons air this Thursday on the Sci Fi Channel, including a long Twilight Zone marathon that includes one of my favorite episodes, "No Time Like The Past." The marathon starts at 8 AM and ends at 3 PM.

The next marathon is Destination Truth, where they uncover the mysteries behind the monsters, from Nessie to the Yeti. Get your monster fill starting at 7 PM and ending at 1 AM.

Friday:

There's a Dark Angel marathon on the Sci Fi channel from 8 AM until 3 PM.

In this week's Stargate Atlantis "The Queen," Teyla gets the the spotlight. The stone-faced queen goes under the knife so she can infiltrate a Wraith ship, and I think it's the best she's ever looked. The new episode airs on the Sci Fi Channel at 10 PM.

Saturday:

A vintage episode of Chuck ("Chuck Versus the Imported Hard Salami") is on NBC at 8 PM.

Primeval gives us our weekly dose of monster goodness on BBC America at 9 PM.

The History Channel is bringing us an entire nighttime marathon of the UFO Files starting at 11 PM and ending at 12 AM

Movies:

The Sci Fi Channel hosts an all day disaster movie marathon starting at 9 AM and running all day, including Volcano, Solar Attack and Earthstorm.

Sunday:

It's the second episode of HBO's True Blood, which left us with a bruised and battered Sookie with no vampire Bill to protect her. Hopefully the world will be set right and the humans can learn how to co-exist with the fake-blood drinking vampires peacefully.

Hang out with the darkest of apocalyptic survivors in Metalocalypse. On Adult Swim at 2 AM.

Movies:

Travel back in time to the 70s with the world's grooviest secret agent, with the worst set of teeth, in Austin Powers In Goldmember on TNT at 12 PM.
