New alternate history series Kings brings us a modern-day world governed by a royal master by the name of Ian McShane. Footage from this updated David-and-Goliath tale is already starting to pop up.
Ian McShane plays the King of Shiloh (which is set in a city that looks a lot like Manhattan). The King's son is taken hostage and country boy David Shepherd (Christopher Egan) saves his life, only to be seated at the right hand of power and wealth. This Biblical alternate universe looks positively brilliant — I cannot wait to see how far this amazing cast can go with translating Old Testament politics to the present day.
The fake UNN site explains a little of the beginning of the pilot and breaks down The Royal Kingdom:

* Shiloh has over 804 kilometers of subterranean railway.
* Shiloh is home to three beaches and the nation's largest national park.
* Unity Tower claims the title of the tallest building in the world.
* The official residence of the Royal Family is Altar Mansion in Shiloh. They have a summer home, the Vineyard, on the coast.
* Over 300 people work at the Mansion, including domestic servants, chefs, footmen, cleaners, plumbers, gardeners, chauffeurs, electricians, and two people who wind all the clocks.
* The Mansion has around 400 rooms, including 15 staterooms, 50 royal and guest bedrooms, 70 bathrooms, 85 offices, a cinema and a swimming pool. It also has its own post office and police station.
The series premiere of Kings is on March 19th.
