First off, I am so excited to see that young Spock appears to be saluting his older self. Fantastic. Also the new "unknown alien" is absolutely frightening, in a great way, and now I want to know what those goggles are for. These images are from the Star Trek trading cards. J.J. Abrams' Star Trek hasn't even released yet, but already Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof have signed up with Paramount to pen the sequel. Smart move, as these writers have formed an unstoppable "Supreme Court" of Trek continuity. According to Variety the crew needs to have the draft done by Christmas, for a summer 2011 release. But Kurtzman told the press he was still waiting to see how the audience reacts to the first reboot movie, before plowing too far ahead. No word if Abrams will direct.
