Did April Fool's Day Come Late In The Buffyverse?

Years after everyone gave up on a big-screen Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie, a new report has surfaced that Sarah Michelle Gellar is finally ready to come back to the role that made her famous.

What made Gellar allegedly change her mind about coming back to Buffy? According to ShowbizSpy, it was a new script that caught her fancy, which includes an older Buffy, who may be a mother. (Interestingly, there's no mention of the script being written by Joss Whedon, who's already busy with Dollhouse, Cabin In The Woods, a Dr. Horrible sequel and the Buffy comics.)

Media outlets like the New York Post are already rushing to debunk the report. The only thing that makes me think it might just possibly be true is the fact that SMG's career has slowed down quite a bit in recent years, and she may want to recapture a bit of her old Buffy magic. In any case, it's hard not to fantasize about the awesomeness of a big-screen Buffy movie. Unless, of course, it sucked.
