Pride & Prejudice & Zombies Author Takes The Money And RunsS

Turns out Pride And Prejudice And Zombies was only the beginning; author Seth Grahame-Smith has signed a big-bucks deal for two more books that shoehorn monsters in where you'd least expect.

Publishers Weekly report that Grahame-Smith has signed a rumored $575,000 deal with Grand Central Press for his next two books following a right auction for the proposal for his next book, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. While little is known about the new book other than the fact that it'll be a relatively straightlaced biography of the President with the one addition of his previously unknown vampire slaying skills, I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed. To his credit, he's not just gone and updated another classic (and copyright-free) novel, but at the same time, this really feels like exactly the same "It's just like you expect... but with monsters!" idea all over again. Maybe the second book in the deal will be something new and more creative; it'll kind of have to be, otherwise GCP might regret spending all that money on him.
