Check out the first look at The Great Bear, an animated story with a bear the size of a mountain. Plus Billy Zane is being kind of a dick by bringing back gladiator-zombies, there's a new Parasomnia trailer, and we find out the new title for Eli Roth's scifi flick.
The Great Bear
Thanks to Twitch for finding the first look at the giant bear from Danish production company Copenhagen Bombay. I'm a sucker for ancient giant beasties (See: Morla from The Neverending Story). Here's the official synopsis of the movie:
Jonathan, 11, usually spends his vacations alone with his grandfather who lives on the edge of a vast forest populated by mythical animals. This year his kid sister Sophie joins him. But it's not cool to be stuck with a little sister, so he does what he can to avoid her. He succeeds entirely too well: Sophie is kidnapped by a giant, 1000-year-old bear. Now, Jonathan has to venture into the heart of the forest to confront the strange beings that dwell there and retrieve his sister.
We're really ready for new animation, so I truly hope this is entertaining.
Eli Roth's Scifi Movie
In an interview with Empire Magazine, Eli Roth revealed the name of his new scifi flick: Endangered Species. Which could mean a thousand different things, but at least it's moving forward. I'm cautiously optimistic for Roth's planned Cloverfield-esque rampage film.
William Malone's flick describes itself as a "horrifying love story about an art student who falls in with a sleeping beauty, only to find out too late that she holds a deadly secret" and looks amazingly confusing. That said, I think I caught a glimpse of a creepy steampunky clown that kidnapped the girl who sleeps though most of her life (and still looks great all the time? Uh huh, sure. That lady would have some serious bed sores). But anyways, check it out and then tell me what you think is going on.
