Fans may want the head of the executives who announced a Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie without the involvement of Joss Whedon, but it turns out that Whedon was asked to be involved after all... and said no.
In an offhand comment at the end of a conversation with Entertainment Weekly about the future of Dollhouse, Whedon admitted
I believe [the producers of the proposed movie] did ultimately reach out to my agent after the news broke... I think that's something better left untouched by me. So, I wish them luck.
They'll need that luck, if fan outrage about the movie is anything to judge by. But will the news that Whedon wasn't actually snubbed change the hatred that fans have for the idea?
