Raimi's Spider-Man 4 Script Hatred Pushes Film Back FurtherS

Rumors are circulating that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 won't make it's May 2011 release date because the director allegedly hates the script. What - did it not have enough omelette dancing and snappy web fingers?

Deadline Hollywood followed up on the previous Spider-Man disaster stories, detailing Raimi's campaign to put the Vulture in as the movies villain, while Sony doesn't think the Vulture will sell tickets. Sony later denied this rumor, but it seems that the studio can't stop it from spreading.

According to Nikki Finke Raimi has been exceedingly vocal about his hatred for the current Spidey script, and it is now being sent back for more rewrites and that,

"It is unlikely that May 11, 2011, date will be made," a Sony insider just told me today. "It depends on how quickly the script can get in." However, agents have told clients in the movie to already expect the film to be pushed back.

Still Finke's source admits that they are still "firmly" committed to the film, but they are all waiting on this new script, so yet again everything has been put on hold.

For those of you that are sad about the delay, watch this brilliant compilation of memorable moments from Spider-Man 3. I think this may convince you that they should really take all the time they need and get those script problems fixed up.
