Yesterday DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson answered the question on many people's minds: Is the company really working on a follow-up to Watchmen?
Talking to MTV, Nelson said:
No, that's all rumor. I'm not sure where it came from. We'll be looking closely at our whole library and making sure we're looking for opportunities to mine every property where it makes sense, and with integrity, but that's just rumor... There are no plans to do that.
She was much cagier on the subject of a Christopher Nolan Superman movie reboot, however:
We don't have any plans about that, and as I've mentioned, in the coming months we'll be making a lot of announcements about what our content plans will be. But right now, that's nothing but rumor - and we frankly don't say a whole lot more about rumor than that, so...
"No plans about it" sounds like a denial (although one that isn't as clear as Watchmen 2's "no plans to do that"), but then adding "right now, that's nothing but rumor" and promising announcements in the coming months seems to backtrack slightly. Of course, official confirmation would make a better splash as DCE's first announcement of movie plans than in answer to an interview question, after all...
