The Bat-signal is lit up with rumors. Two separate sites are claiming that location scouting has begun for Chris Nolan's next Batman feature, and one source goes so far as to speculate that filming will start this year.
Batman On Film, the site for everything Dark Knight, has heard from their Chicago sources, where most of DK and Batman Begins was filmed, that scouting has already begun in the windy city.
"[They] have been out and about in Chicago's Financial District."
Also in an interview with an unnamed source on the set of John Landis' Burke and Hare over at Remington's is also claiming that Batman 3 is getting ready to start filming this year.
[The source said that] sets were either being constructed, or will soon be constructed, for the third Batman, with the possibility of shooting toward the end of the year. He also said that they were coming under budget at the end of The Dark Knight, so they built a whole extra set (possible usage in the third film.)
Fantastic news, since we're all starving for Nolan's brand of thoughtful and unpredictable superheroics. Again, we can't confirm these reports right now, but it does help that the two seem to back each other up. Does this mean we could be watching a new Batman in 2012? It's entirely possible.
