Two bits of awesome news! First there will be no contrived Wanted sequel, thanks to Angelina Jolie. Instead she's going to star in Gravity from Children Of Men director Alfonso Cuarón. Which is definitely the second bit of good news.
New York Magazine is reporting that Angelina Jolie pulled out of Universal's Wanted 2 picture, which sounded like it was going to resurrect her character in a convoluted, nonsensical way, judging from director Timur Bekmambetov's comments last summer. Plus there really was no reason for a second Wanted film.
Instead the actress plans to act in Cuarón's space drama Gravity. Which sounds like Moon mixed with Castaway:
Jolie would be alone on-screen for much of the movie, playing the sole surviving human member of a space mission, desperately trying to return home to Earth and her daughter.
Good news all around. Plus we're very happy that Cuarón's cerebral work is moving forward, now we have something thought-provoking to look forward to after Inception.
