Sony Pushes The Shadow And Sam Raimi Off On Another StudioS

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of studio execs? Sony let the movie rights lapse on Sam Raimi's dream pulp project The Shadow. Undaunted, Raimi's shopping around the rights to other studios, and possibly recruiting a Twilight director.

Variety is reporting that The Shadow has been kicked out of Sony, and along with it Sam Raimi's shot at directing this film. But even thought the rights are no longer Sony's, that's not stopping the producer/director from trying to get his longtime dream project made.

According to Latino Review Fox has already picked it up, along with Raimi and everyone there seems to want Twilight: Eclipse's David Slade to direct. This isn't a completely crazy idea, since the two of them worked on 30 Days of Nights together.

We were always wishing that Raimi would direct this picture himself, but we had a lot of fun with Slade on 30 Days of Night, so it might be a good idea to bring two people into The Shadow that can turn this comic book character, who's secret power is hypnotic invisibility, into something actually menacing.
