Will Warners Make Bleach Movie Instead Of Akira?

Did a widely publicized plagiarism scandal help make Tite Kubo's Bleach a hot movie property? Hot on the heels of accusations that Gene Simmons' kid ripped off Bleach for his own comic Incarnate, Warner Bros. purchased the Bleach movie rights.

We'd like to believe that Warners was aware of one of the most popular Manga series of all time, before the son of the lead singer from KISS started allegedly stealing from it, but who knows?

Warner Brothers is rumored to be in the process of acquiring the rights to Tite Kubo infamous Manga Bleach, with plans to turn it into a live action possibly produced by Peter Segal. Does Warners have what it takes to make this demanding project happen? Here's the synopsis:

Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki after he accidentally obtains the power of a Soul Reaper-a Japanese death personification similar to the Grim Reaper-from Rukia Kuchiki. Gaining these abilities forces him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife.

Personally, I'd rather Warner Brothers focus in on making Akria right before getting another difficult Manga live action film up and running, but either would be welcomed if done correctly.
