Stephen Hawking Admits that Aliens Will Probably Fuck Us UpS

The world's most famous living scientist has confirmed what science fiction filmmakers have postulated since the beginning of cinema: There is life out there in the cosmos, and it would most likely smash us to atoms.

In film after film, novel after novel, first contact with an alien intelligence usually hasn't ended particularly well for humanity. And now — in a recent episode of the Discovery Channel's currently airing documentary series, Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking — the lauded theoretical physicist has all but confirmed it. Not only is there almost certainly intelligent life in the universe, but it may very well be hostile. As Hawking told London's Sunday Times:

Stephen Hawking Admits that Aliens Will Probably Fuck Us UpS

"We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach..... If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn't turn out very well for the Native Americans."
