Two Black Holes Fight For Supremacy Within A Galaxy!S

Can a single galaxy support two mid-sized black holes? This one does. This composite image shows the starburst galaxy M82, with two intermediate-sized "survivor" black holes that have managed to avoid falling into the galactic core.

The above image is a composite, consisting of X-ray data from the Chandra Observatory (in blue), optical data from the Hubble Space Telescope in green and orange, and infrared data from the Spitzer Space Telescope in red.
