After scuttling his return as the Hulk in The Avengers with a Gamma-charged drama overload, Edward Norton is seeking greener pastures in DC's Batman franchise. But would you want Norton in your Batman? Meanwhile, Nolan says a draft script's done.
Right before San Diego Comic Con, Marvel and Norton got into a very public back-and-forth squabble over the casting of the Hulk in Joss Whedon's Avengers movie. Which, luckily, ended up in the casting of Mark Ruffalo. Now that the Hulk argument has been put to bed, Norton is looking for new comic book projects he'd like to get involved with, specifically Chris Nolan's new Batman movie. Which he revealed to IGN:
"Chris Nolan's making the best ones out there by far I'd do one [a superhero movie] with him. He's set a new bar for sure, and I think he's done a great, great job."
When asked if he wanted to play the rumored villain The Riddler, Norton replied, "Your guys can put their votes in on that." So "guys" have at it. Yay or nay on Norton in a Batman movie?
In other Batman 3 news, Nolan Fans uncovered the latest update on the third Batman film from the director in an Inception press conference in Rome.
I don't like to talk too much about things until I'm further along with them. But I'm working on the script right now. My brother Jonah has done a draft for the script and now I'm writing on it. We have set a release date. And as far as the film being officially greenlit, they haven't told they don't want to do it. So I'm hopeful.
