Brandon Routh won't return as Superman. Plus secrets of Caprica 1.5, and the Doctor's latest encounter with Sarah Jane

New director Zack Snyder is already pretty sure there will be a new actor playing Superman. Sam Adama reveals what lies ahead on Caprica, and new trailers and hints reveal the Eleventh Doctor's awesome appearance on The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Superman Reboot:

It's early days yet, but newly announced director Zack Snyder has already let slip one important casting detail - whoever is playing the Man of Steel, it "isn't likely" that it will be Superman Returns star Brandon Routh. [Variety]

And Snyder tells MTV the film will look at the "why" of the character:

All I'll say is that those guys - Chris [Nolan] and David [Goyer] - have created an amazing story and the "Why Superman?" question is definitely being looked at with care. That's all I could hope for as a director - that those guys have already gone a long way to making him, [addressing] the "Why?" of Superman, [and] toward understanding him. ... Everyone always says "Why Superman?" Why is he relevant? Who is he now? I think those guys have done an amazing job with that. That's the real trick.

Kick-Ass 2:

Chloe Moretz says, as much as she would love to play Hit-Girl again, any news that the sequel has been given the go-ahead are still just rumors:

Yeah, I'd totally love to be Hit-Girl again, but I don't know about Kick-Ass 2. Everyone's like, "It's just been announced!," but I'm like, "No, it hasn't. That's all rumor." I honestly don't even know anymore. I don't know anything about a second one. All I know is that there's a second comic called "Balls to the Wall." Hopefully, that will happen.

Chuck:

Episode 8 will reportedly be called "Chuck vs. The Fear of Death", and it will reportedly introduce Adelbert De Smet, who will appear in at least one more episode as well. That's also supposed to be the episode with Summer Glau as Greta and Rob Riggle as a CIA agent. [SpoilerTV]

The Sarah Jane Adventures:

And here's a bunch of crazy teasers for "Death to the Doctor", Russell T. Davies's first (and perhaps only) time writing for the Eleventh Doctor. It looks like he might be using the opportunity to deepen the Doctor Who mythos in a rather big way:

1. Doctors 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 and 11 all make an appearance.
2. There's mentions of Axons, Azal and Aggedor.
3. "Smells like roast chicken!"
4. The Brigadier is still stranded in Peru, while Liz Shaw is on the Moon.
5. That's Groske, not Graske.
6. The Doctor doesn't have to be white. And he can regenerate more than 12 times - a lot more!
7. "You look like someone's baked you!"
8. Jo Jones (née Grant) has 7 children and (almost) 13 grandchildren.
9. The Doctor might never look back, but Sarah Jane has discovered some interesting things using Google.
10. "Accelerate the weave!"

If number 6 is true, then Davies is going to put a couple massive points of contention about the show to rest. We're probably in for another set of clips or still images so that the Doctors can make their cameos. And Jo Jones, eh? Looks like somebody stuck with that handsome Professor Clifford. [Digital Spy]

Caprica:

Sasha Roiz revealed some major hints about where season 1.5 is going in a Q&A. Here are some highlights:

[Y]ou'll see a lot of people interacting with Cylons. I think it's basically what we're driving towards is the introduction of the Cylons into this world. And so it's going to definitely cross paths with just about everybody's storylines.

[Sam and Joseph] negotiate a deal with the Graystones. And so eventually that technology comes into the hands of the Ha'La'Tha.

[T]here'll be doubts placed upon [Sam] for the first time, and that'll be really interesting to see, the sort of torment he has as someone who's always taking orders unquestionably, and then all of a sudden is arrested and has to start to question his life and his loyalties which he's never had to do before.

But everybody's in peril and everybody's got a remarkable storyline. And like I said, there's going to be a lot more action and I think you're going to be on the edge of your seats like trying to figure out who's going to survive and who's going to fall. Because the one great thing they do in the show is they kind of leave you guessing as to the ultimate survival of the characters. We know there's going to be a catastrophe so you never know who's going to be safe and I think that's a wonderful element.

The immigrant status of Sam plays a very, very large role. It's very significant to the portrayal because it's really sort of what his outlook on Caprica, it's how he sort of perceives himself in relationship to the Capricans. And there's that constant reminder that he's a second class citizen because he's not a purebred Caprican. And so that bitterness and that enmity is always sort of present in his everyday, you know, in my portrayal of it and certainly in Sam's activities.

In the mid-season premiere, we will reportedly see "Zoe wielding a ninja sword against the cast of a Bob Fosse musical", and we'll understand whatever this means when we see the episode. [E! Online]

No Ordinary Family:
