Hugo Strange might not be the villain of The Dark Knight Rises after all. Plus Chris Evans talks Captain America!

Tom Hardy might not be playing the baddie in The Dark Knight Rises. The time travel thriller Looper has an amazing death scene. The Superman reboot might found its shooting location. Has Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter found its Lincoln? Spoilers!

The Dark Knight Rises

An inside source is claiming that, despite all the recent rumors, Tom Hardy is decidedly not playing Dr. Hugo Strange in the movie. As a general rule, we'd tell you take what an inside source says with a grain of salt...but in this case, that would imply Tom Hardy is almost definitely playing Strange, and that isn't true either. For now, we'll just say this: until we hear something official, we don't know who Hardy is playing. [Batman-On-Film]

In more definitive news, however, Christopher Nolan was recently scouting shooting locations in Asia. Another inside source also says the film will shoot in the United Kingdom, Los Angeles, Detroit, another country, and possibly New York...and, in all likelihood, shooting will return to Chicago, which played Gotham City in the first two movies. Captain America

Chris Evans explains how he's going to capture the moral and physical greatness of Steve Rogers:

As far as the physicality goes, that comes from the serum, and I think special effects will help me carry the load. As far as who he is as a man, the reason he's chosen for this experiment is because he has a pure heart. It's the morality, the nobility. He's a real redeeming character to play, it's exciting to think of playing him. I actually have a friend of mine who I'm modeling the character after. This guy is actually an Eagle Scout, he's one of those guys who stayed in the Boy Scouts all the way until he was 18. He's just a good human being. He does the right things, he's open, he's honest, he's sincere, he's selfless. It's something that I think everyone aspires to. A lot of time I play characters who don't have any redeeming quality [Laughing].

X-Men: First Class

A since redacted set report from a minor supporting actor seems to confirm the film involves the Cuban missile crisis:

"Today I had lunch, got fitted for my outfit, and then I found out that the role I'm playing is entirely different than what I auditioned for - it's even BIGGER. I am the Ship Captain of a 1960's submarine (during the Cuban missile crisis). I shoot my scene at night on Wednesday evening. It is cold and windy - sand is kicking up all over the place. And, my ship will be taking on lots of water during my scene. I will be shouting to my crew to keep the ship from sinking."

Looper

Brick director Rian Johnson's movies about time traveling assassins recently added Paul Dano as Seth, one of the characters threatened with temporal assassination. A casting sheet just sent out reveals the scene in which the older version of Seth is erased from the future while his younger version is killed. It sounds kinda amazingly gruesome:

Limping through an old train yard this older version of "Seth" begins physically changing while his loop (young Seth - Paul Dano) is being tortured and killed in a parallel universe by "Abe" for not killing his loop (Old Seth). As young Seth is tortured we witness Old Seth's limbs rapidly going missing and various scars appear on his body spelling out a message that will soon be his fate in both "times".

The casting sheet is also looking for the wife of the older version of the main character Joe, who is played by Bruce Willis:

[OLD JOE'S WIFE] CHINESE, 40s. This beautiful and vulnerable woman is the love of Old Joe's life. She is passionate, intense and loyal to Old Joe, and hewill stop at nothing to protect his one true love.

Spider-Man Reboot

A supposed plot outline has hit the net, and it seems almost absurdly fake. It's very detailed - part of the reason we're pretty much certain it's bogus - and you can check out the link if you want to see the story it tells, but we will say it involves quite a few flashbacks, features Spidey's parents tangling with the "Proto-Goblin" Nels Van Adder, and ends with the death of Captain George Stacy. [ComicBookMovie]

Superman Reboot

The movie is reportedly going to be shot in Vancouver. The chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia said Zack Snyder's next film will shoot here, although he refused to confirm it was actually the Superman reboot he was talking about. Another, anonymous source then confirmed that it was indeed Superman he was talking about. So, not quite 100% official, but looking pretty likely. [Ace Showbiz]

Kevin Spacey, who played Lex Luthor in Superman Returns, says that he'd like to reprise the role, although he doesn't think it's very likely:

They haven't called. All I hear is what you probably hear too. All I know is that when I hear a reboot, I assume they're going to recast everybody. But, yah, in principle, there was already supposed to be a second one but it never happened. It's their option. But I had a blast doing it. My suspicion is they're going to reboot the whole thing.

The Dark Tower

Ron Howard offered some more thoughts on what he wants to bring to his adaptation of the Stephen King fantasy saga:

"Filmically, there are tones in this that I have never used before, tones of fantasy menace and elements of horror and real fear. And there's the burden, on the characters, of this journey that is really palpable. That's what we need to get on the screen. I think there's something about [the Frank Darabont films] ‘Green Mile' or a ‘Shawshank Redemption,' the complexity and the ballast of them, those are two [of the Stephen King adaptations] where you do get the horror and suspense that's there on the page. We're charging ourselves with the responsibility of getting a real understanding of the material and utilizing many of the best aspects of the books and graphic novels."

He also acknowledged that a lot of people are talking about Viggo Mortensen as a prospective casting choice, although he didn't actually weigh in on what he thinks about it. [Hero Complex]

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Eric Bana is reportedly a contender for the title role. He's reportedly set to meet with director Timur Bekmambetov about it, so he may just be one of a few different actors under consideration. [The Wrap]

Wrath of the Titans

Star Sam Worthington admits Clash of the Titans wasn't all that great, and using rather salty language promises this new movie will be better:

"I just think we can improve on it. I think the first one, we kind of let down some people. And yeah, I totally agree. The only point of doing a sequel is either the audience demands it or you believe you can better the first one. What we're setting out to do with this one — the writers and the director and myself — is improve. I think I can act fucking better, to be honest ... Just take all the notes from people that I have been reading about on the 'net and give them a movie they fucking want. This one I want to kind of try to satisfy a lot more people."

Ouija

Two new directors are reportedly set to pitch how they would approach the project to the studio for this board game adaptation, which is supposed to be an adventure story in the Indiana Jones mold. Charlie's Angels and Terminator Salvation director McG will be going up against Sahara director Breck Eisner. Neither is a lock for the gig, but the movie's late 2012 release date suggests a director should be named relatively soon. [/Film]

Doctor Who

Arthur Darvill explains how Rory has changed and how he will approach his adventures going forward:

"I think Rory has changed a hell of a lot. He's waited 2,000 years for Amy, he's died a few times, he's been a plastic Roman soldier and he's had a gun come out of his hand! I don't think you can get over those things particularly easily! I think he has grown, so while he's still probably going to be terrified of everything, he's now more willing to go the extra mile. I also think being around The Doctor and Amy brings out the adventurous side of him."

He also explained where he now stands with the Doctor:

"I think it's a pretty good relationship now. Rory's grown in confidence throughout all this and I think he feels like he's proved himself. It's just the three of them in the Tardis. I think they've all become really close and Rory and The Doctor are now quite good mates. They trust each other a lot and are able to tell each other what they really think."

There's a lot more at the link, including Darvill's highly amusing thoughts on how he was obviously cast to be Doctor Who's resident muscled warrior. [Digital Spy]

She will play a nurse called Netta who has been taking care of a mysterious patient in the Orchard asylum for many years. She comes into conflict with Summer Glau's Orwell, who starts snooping around the strange mental hospital. [TV Guide]
