Will Marvel's secret Avengers trailer reveal the movie's villain?

We may not have to wait as long as we'd thought for our first glimpse of footage from 2012's mega-team-up film, The Avengers. Rumor has it the first teaser trailer will come this summer...and it could reveal the film's villain.

Spoilers...

Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Marvel has already shot a teaser trailer for The Avengers, months before any filming for the actual film has taken place.

And that's not all — the teaser allegedly shows the Thor villain, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), stepping up as the main villain for The Avengers. This makes sense, since his character will be given a chance to grow in this May's Thor feature. And rumors that Loki would be The Avengers' big bad has been circling for sometime now. But wait, that's still not all!

Latino Review is also reporting that not only will Loki be the main villain in The Avengers, but he's going to use the cosmic cube to bring evil shape-shifting aliens, the Skrulls, to Earth.

This could explain why images Red Skull with the cosmic cube from Captain America have already been leaked. In fact, Marvel screened the scene where Red Skull discovers the cube at last years Comic Con. It was crazy early to be showing such a key plot point to fans, so it's got to be pretty important. And on top of it all, the Skrulls have long been rumored as a secondary Avengers villain.

That's a whole lotta villainy, for a flick that already has five leads. But perhaps The Skrulls will be mostly set up as the villains for Avengers 2, Alien Boogaloo?
