Unlock your inner expressionist with these wild stills for über art haus flick 1000 Kings. See what emotionless world awaits us all in the distant future. First person to make a Sprocket joke wins!
Behold the minimalist art world of future mankind. It has been years since we've seen something as aggressively obscure as this German film, we love it! Even the behind-the-scenes video here is a bit over-the-top. It appears as if just about everything except the costumes (and boxes of creepy babies) is green screen. The synopsis helps explain the stripped down look, but does nothing for the behind-the-scenes boxes o' babies image we have in the gallery below.
In a distant future, mankind has transformed into a society completely reduced to the intellect. Living in an obscure system of immense spaces, people can only be distinguished from one another by their different social positions. Only one among them still has the gift to sense emotions. For this ability he is admired, exploited and kept under control. However one day he manages to escape their domineering influence and is ruthlessly punished as a result.
It's Battle Royale and The Exam... on a plane! Sure we've heard this story before, a bunch of people trapped in a room with a malicious and unseen force pulling the strings. But the location and interesting social media angle make us super-excited for Panic Button. Plus, we have to admit, the bit in the end with the "do you accept these terms" screen is quite brilliant. Read the fine print people!

O Homem Do Futuro
Claudio Torres' Brazilian time travel comedy, O Homem Do Futuro, knows its audience. In the first few seconds of the trailer there's a Nacho Vigalondo Timecrimes joke. Amazing.
Zero (Wagner Moura) is a brilliant scientist, but arrogant and unhappy. About to be fired, he decides to put into practice a new invention: a particle accelerator. The experimentfails, but he accidentally travels back in time and gets another chance with Helen (Aline Moraes), a woman who renounced the scientist and humiliated him years before this trip .

One short film standout on the Tribeca Film Festival slate is Richard Cunningham III's zombie short Year Zero. The premise appears to be fairly simple, a man is trapped in his apartment with two other zombies in the middle of an undead epidemic. And it seems as if the infected folk still possess the power of speech and reasoning. Check out this trailer and clip.
