This week on television, it's a time for tough choices. Several of your favorite television shows are back this week, plus Syfy introduces its new mutant super-team show Alphas. And Iron Man and War Machine both face impossible battles.
Check out the inside scoop on all the TV shows coming back this week. We've also got sneak peeks from new episodes of Eureka, Warehouse 13, Adventure Time, Alphas, Scooby-Doo, Futurama and Haven. And the trailer for a new Syfy Original Movie — about a super-volcano! Check out all the details, below.
Cartoon Network's Monday night animation bloc is back with a vengeance. First at 7 PM, there's a new Johnny Test, featuring two stories:
"Cat Scratch Johnny"- Johnny and Dukey can't get enough of the latest 3D movie so they ask the twins to make them everyday 3D glasses. They make the mistake of wearing them during the movie, causing too much D as the movie comes to life! "Johnny Deep"- Bling Bling uses a ring to hypnotize Susan to fall in love with him, then whisks her off to his yacht. Johnny and Dukey transform into sharks to search for the ring and destroy it, getting help from a retired underwater action hero.
Then at 7:30, there's another Amazing World of Gumball. But that's not why we're excited...
What time is it? Adventure Time! The show that many people consider the best new cartoon of the past couple years is starting a new season at 8 PM, with "The Conquest of Cuteness." What happens?
Finn and Jake are attacked by the Cute King and his army of the cutest, most harmless warriors ever. When our guys don't take the threat seriously, the Cute King tries other means to intimidate them.
Check out two clips from the episode:
And that's followed by an extended version of a previously aired Regular Show episode.
But Cartoon Network isn't the only channel that's trying to grab onto your eyeballs tonight. Syfy is also bouncing back on Monday nights, with two returning shows and one new one. (Check out our spoiler-free preview of Syfy's Monday night here.)
First up at, 8 PM, there's the midseason premiere of Eureka, "Liftoff," in which:
Zane pesters Jo for details she does not want to reveal. Carter problem-solves at Andy and S.A.R.A.H.'s wedding. Elsewhere, Zane's actions make him and Fargo unexpectedly airborne.
And here's a clip!
And then there's the third season premiere of Warehouse 13, dealing with the fallout from Myka leaving the team. It's called "The New Guy," and it's about, well... the new guy on the team. Plus people are mysteriously dying in a weirdly literary fashion, and Jimi Hendrix's guitar is wreaking havoc. Just another day at the warehouse, basically. And watch a clip!
Syfy is hoping those two shows will just leave you wanting more, so you'll tune in at 10 PM to watch the 90-minute pilot for Alphas, its new show about a group of mutants who work for the government and solve weird problems, while going through therapy. Here's what Syfy wants you to know:
Alphas follows a clandestine group of average everyday citizens with amazing abilities operating within the U.S. Department of Defense. Led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn), the team investigates cases that point to others with abilities like theirs, and as they work against the clock to solve this new brand of crime, they must prevent their own personality differences and disparate backgrounds from interfering with their missions.
And check out a sneak peek!
Or if super-mutants isn't your thing, you could also look in on Teen Wolf on MTV, with "Night School." In which:
Scott and the others are trapped inside the high school as the Alpha draws near.
So it's a choice between Alphas plural, and Alpha singular.
At 7:30 PM, the Cartoon Network has another new Scooby-Doo: Mystery Inc., with "Dead Justice."
The ghost of Crystal Cove's most famous sheriff, Dead Justice, has come back from his grave to make Sheriff Stone quit his job by trapping Crystal Cove's top criminals. Can Scooby and the gang stop Dead Justice before it's too late?

And then at 9 PM, Disney has a new special, Phineas and Ferb: Boys Interrupted. When Mom tells Candace she wants to spend the day with her, Candace spends the entire time with her in the backyard so that she can bust her brothers. Meanwhile, Agent P partners up with Dr. Doofenshmirtz to fix his destroyed "Dull and Boring Ray" into a "Dynamite Ray."

Yellowstone's top geologist (Juliet Aubrey. Primeval/The Constant Gardner) and a park ranger (Richard Burgi, Friday the 13th/Desperate Housewives) try stopping the poisonous volcano clouds from spreading before the entire world becomes a permanent apocalyptic winter." There's no shark involved, apparently. But it's still pretty awesome. And here's a cheestastic trailer.
