Putting the 'Epic' in Epic Fantasy: Writing to Excite!
Fantasy is the new hotness at Comic-Con this year. No longer will people throw rocks at those who squirrel away dragon-covered paperbacks in their pack. And the folks who helped bring fantasy out of the closet are all on one delightful (and high-powered) author panel. Panelists include George R. R. Martin (A Game of Thrones), Brandon Sanderson (The Way of Kings), Patrick Rothfuss (The Name of the Wind), Christopher Paolini (The Inheritance Cycle), Peter Orullian (The Unremembered), K. J. Taylor (The Fallen Moon series), and Kevin J. Anderson (Terra Incognita). Come and feast on the epicness, and afterwards: LEMON CAKE!
When: 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Where: Room 6A

Focus On Rick Baker
Speaking of epic heroes, you should really go and pay your respects to the man behind today's monsters in Hollywood, make-up legend Rick Baker. Not only is he filled with vast knowledge and stories from almost every modern day creature feature worth mentioning, but he's promised to talk a little bit about the new Men In Black movie.
When: 12:15 - 1:00 PM
Where: Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront

io9 Panel: Scifi That Will Change Your Life
What can you read, watch, listen to that will change your life forever. Gather round as io9 and friends revel in this year's greatest contributions to science fiction. Seriously, come, we'd love to see you. Besides the io9 editors, panelists include Charles Yu (How to Survive in a Science Fictional Universe) and Zack Stentz (Thor, X-Men: First Class).
When: 12:30 - 1:30 PM
Where: Room 24ABC

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark
Exclusive footage will be shown from what we're guessing will be the scariest movie of the year. It's either this or Insidious, and we never bet against Guillermo Del Toro.
When: 2:00 - 3:00 PM
Where: Hall H

Game Of Thrones Panel
This panel could change the face of Comic-Con forever. GOT is the most hotly anticipated panel at SDCC, the popularity for this show is so fierce we really think this panel could help television dethrone movies at Comic-Con once and for all. Plus George R. R. Martin is moderating this sick collection of actors from the series.
When: 3:00 - 4:00 PM
Where: Ballroom 20

The Fox Panel Unleashes Rise of the Planet of the Apes — and Possibly A Bit of Prometheus
You know Ridley Scott is chomping at the bit to show off some of his latest science fiction masterpiece — and what better crowd to surprise than Comic-Con? I'll eat my hat if there isn't some sort of Prometheus surprise in this panel. But, if not, we always have the creepy Ape Revolution to get us excited. All Hail Cesar!
When: 3:15 - 4:30 PM
Where: Hall H

Friday

Torchwood: Miracle Day Panel
The continuation of the Doctor Who spin-off may well be the most exciting science fiction show of the summer. And any time star John Barrowman appears on stage, you're pretty much guaranteed crazy antics. So this one is a can't-miss event. Besides Barrowman, the panel includes stars Alexa Havins, Mekhi Phifer, Bill Pullman, Lauren Ambrose and Eve Myles, plus writer/producer Jane Espenson. Also, you can watch episode three — which Espenson wrote, and which features an insanely steamy sex scene — at 9:30 on Thursday evening.
When: 10:00 - 11:00 AM
Where: Ballroom 20

Locke & Key Screening
Sit and discover the greatest injustice to befall television: the studio's failure to pick up Locke & Key. Watch the pilot, and then get online and rage (or not). The cherry on top? Right after the screening is a panel with Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, along with the pilot's writer, Josh Friedman And don't fret, if you miss the premiere there's an encore screening at 9:15 PM in Room 6DE.
When: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Where: Room 8

Walking Dead
Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Norman Reedus. Steven Yeun, Jeffrey DeMunn will sit on a panel with Frank Darabont and Gale Anne Hurd, to discuss the second season of Walking Dead. And probably show some footage. You'll be able to hear the screams all the way down in Hall H. Get there early.
When: 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Where: Ballroom 20

Sony Presents The Amazing Spider-Man
If you think this Comic-Con isn't going to be all about the newly rebooted wall-crawler, think again. Marc Webb and the whole Spider-Man crew are coming into San Diego to kick the Avengers' ass. We expect this foortage to just knock it out of the park.
When: 4:00-6:30
Where: Hall H

Venture Bros.
A new Venture Bros. episode, presented by none other than the show creators Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer. The duo will screen an early premiere of new VB short From the Ladle to the Grave: The Story of Shallow Gravy.
When: 11:45 - 12:30 PM
Where: Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront

Marvel: Year of the X-Men
Now that the great Schism has taken place, what's next for the X-Men? X-Men Regenesis will be explained by Writers Marjorie Liu (X-23), Rick Remender (Uncanny X-Force), and Chris Yost (X-Men: First to Last). Should be interesting to say the least!
When: 12:30 - 1:30 PM
Where: Room 6DE

The River Screening
If you check out one new show at Comic-Con this year, we urge you to pick The River. It's horror TV at it's best — plus after this screening, the cast and crew will host a Q&A, and trust us, you're going to have questions.
When: 2:15 - 3:15 PM
Where: Room 6A

Syfy Line Up: Eureka, Warehouse 13, Alphas
All your favorite Syfy shows will be at Con, showing off new footage and being generally sweet and awesome. Here's hoping there's an announcement for more cross over episodes between Eureka and W13! (But don't forget, Being Human is on Saturday!)
When: 3:00 - 7:00 PM
Where: Ballroom 20

True Blood Panel With Lots O' Cast
Alexander Skarsgård has confirmed that he will be at Comic-Con. Good Night Everybody!
When: 5:30 - 6:30 PM
Where: Ballroom 20

Saturday

Terra Nova
It's make it or break it time for Spielberg's time-traveling dinosaur drama. We expect big things from this series (as they've been releasing a lot of clever marketing posters all over San Diego). That being said, we still haven't seen enough footage, and here's hoping their Comic-Con panel silences the doubters forever!
When: 11:00 - 12:00 PM
Where: Ballroom 20

Futurama
This is a staple of Comic-Con. Futurama knows how to run a panel — specifically, by letting all the voice actors run off the rails, which is crazy fun to witness. Creators Matt Groening (yipes!) and David X. Cohen join Billy West (Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg), Katey Sagal (Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender), and Maurice LaMarche (Kif Kroker, Calculon, Morbo) on stage.
When: 12:15 - 1:00 PM
Where: Ballroom 20

Joss Whedon: Dark Horse
Joss Whedon, on stage, talking about Buffy. This won't be happening again for a long, long time (what with his Avengers commitments) so go and get all nostalgic while you still can. Plus Dark Horse has promised a sneak peek at the brand-new Angel & Faith and Buffy Season 9 comics!
When: 3:00 - 4:00 PM
Where: Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront

Once Upon A Time Screening
Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof will moderate a screening and Q&A of this tragic fairy tale!
When: 3:15- 4:15 PM
Where: Room 6DE
