Take a look at the first trailer for the movie adaptation of the warped novel John Dies At The End from Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-Tep). It's got Paul Giamatti, a drug called "soy sauce" and meat monster — so everyone wins!

Based on the novel by David Wong (the pseudonym of Jason Pargin, an editor at Cracked.com), the book follows two kids as they take the mind-bending drug soy sauce, which reveals a lot of incredibly disturbing shit. Such as a scorpion who wears a wig, and other monsters). And yes — that was bad, bad Clancy Brown and Doug Jones tucked away in the trailer. Here's the official synopsis:

It's a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can't.

The sequel to the novel is rumored to still be in the works, with the awesome title THIS BOOK IS FULL OF SPIDERS: Seriously Dude, Don't Touch It. And John Dies at the End, the movie, will be released sometime in 2012.
