Five minutes from tonight's Walking Dead premiere was screened at New York Comic Con last night, and now it's already online. Check out the gang's first bloody encounter with a walker herd.

Jon Bernthal (Shane), Laurie Holden (Andrea), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes), Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), and Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene) took the stage with Gale Anne Hurd and Greg Nicotero. The biggest cheer came for Norman Reedus, we assume it's because everyone saw this amazing Soup video he and Steven Yeun starred in:

Reedus later revealed why we all love that distant Daryl: "The thing about Daryl is he can hunt, he can survive on his own, but he can't really connect with you emotionally. He needs a hug, but if you tried to hug him he'd try and stab you. This second season there are so many twists and turns for him. They were nice enough to bring us into the writers' room this season and we got to talk about our characters."

Holden commented on the above footage — this was her first zombie kill, and she's just getting started. Hooray sharpshooter Andrea on the horizon! But besides a few lines, the cast was completely and exhaustingly buttoned-up about any sort of spoilers whatsoever. Sigh. But at least we'll have the premiere tonight! Plus, we've got a bevy of cast interviews coming up next week, so stay tuned!
