Last night's Scream Awards was an epic celebration of horror, science fiction and comics, as the Hollywood elite gathered to toast Ed Brubaker, Peter Dinklage and gore. Here are our favorite weird and awesome moments.

All Hail Giant Peter Dinklage
Instead of unrolling a giant video screen for award winners not in attendance could deliver a video acceptance speech, the Scream Awards opted to project the greetings on a giant head-shaped screen that rose out of their lake of fire. The effect was pretty damn impressive.

Just An Average Day for Robert Downey Jr.

RDJ wins the "Hero" award and saunters down the middle of a choir singing "I need a hero" while fans waved Shepard Fairey inspired "Hope" posters with his image and the word "Hero" printed underneath. After giving presenter Colin Farrell a "Hey You" point (and Farrell returned the gesture) he danced to the mic, completely unphased. Yep, just another day for Iron Man.

Joe Manganiello Teaches Us A New Word, Furbanger
Joe Manganiello wins the Male Breakout Performance Spike award (Emilia Clarke, from Game of Thrones won the Female Breakout award) took to the stage with a growl and then thanked all his "furbangers" which is really just the werewolf's play on True Blood's fangbangers. Come on, wolf people. You all know the actual word is "furry" — deal with it.

June Foray wins the Comic-Con Icon Award
She's the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel from The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, Natasha,
Grandmother Fa (Mulan), Granny from Looney Tunes, the Green Witch from Looney Tunes and so more. She's a legend and totally deserving of this shout out. Good job Scream Awards.

Darren Aronofsky Speaks The Truth!
Aronofsky wins Best Director for Black Swan and dedicates his award to the original science fiction and horror fans, "when it used to not be cool to watch scifi and horror — before Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and Sean Parker became super Geeks... when you were risking limb and life to write book reports about Rod Serling and Isaac Asimov." It was really interesting to watch this MASSIVE celebration of genre and note how mainstream this whole world has become. Folks like Nic Cage (who won the Maverick award), J.J. Abrams, Quentin Tarantino, and more were in attendance.

Matt Smith Beats Out Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Evans and Daniel Craig

One wonderful surprise was watching the brand new Doctor, Matt Smith, beat out all the Hollywood stars for Best Science Fiction Actor.

George Lucas Upstages Darth Vader
Darth Vader wins the "Ultimate Villain Award, so apparently that's bigger than just the regular villain award" and takes the stage to complain about George Lucas' constant Star Wars tinkering, until Lucas interrupts him.

Game of Thrones Wins Best TV Show
Lena Headey comes out holding two Spike Awards over her breasts, while sitting on top of Sean Bean on the Iron Throne. So yeah the GOT cast wins for best introductions all around.

Dark Knight Rises Cast
Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt gather on stage to cheer for Batman, and make fun of Christian Bale. We're so amped for this film, just seeing them together gets us happy.

Ralph Fiennes' Lord Voldemort T-Shirt
Ralph Fiennes won the Scream award for Best Villain, and as opposed to saying "He who shall not be named," he merely pointed down to his t-shirt. We love that he has (and wears) Potter gear. We miss you, snake face!
