Disney has released the first ever English-dubbed trailer for The Secret World of Arrietty from Studio Ghibli (of Spirited Away and Ponyo fame.) It features the voices of Saoirse Ronan, Mark Strong, Amy Poehler, Carol Burnett and Will Arnett.
Based on Mary Norton's Borrowers book series (which you may also remember from the lovely Borrowers BBC miniseries) the film revolves around a tiny family of tiny people who "borrow" from their human neighbors, hence the name. Here's the official synopsis.
The Clock family are four-inch tall "little people" who live anonymously in another family's residence, borrowing simple items to make their home. Life changes for the Clocks when their daughter, Arrietty, is discovered.
It's by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who's worked on every recent Hayao Miyazaki film, including Ponyo and Spirited Away. And with Disney's backing, Arrietty will hopefully be much easier to find in theaters next year!
The Secret World of Arrietty will hit theaters on February 17, 2012.
