You may remember comic scribe Brian Azzarello and artist Eduardo Risso from their critically acclaimed crime comic book 100 Bullets. Now, the duo is tackling dystopian science fiction with their new DC/Vertigo series Spaceman. Check out an exclusive five-page preview of next week's extremely grimy issue.
Spaceman — a series Azzarello described to us as not science fiction, but "science hell" — stars Orson, a genetically engineered human being bred by NASA specifically for a Mars mission. After the public learns about NASA's clandestine DNA tampering, Orson's stuck earthbound, picking up maritime scrap on an environmentally decaying planet. The end of Spaceman #1 finds Orson stumbling across a burning boat. Tara, a missing reality TV orphan, is on-board...but so is her kidnapper.
This issue hits shops Wednesday, November 30. Here's the plot synopsis:

On the outskirts of the flooded city, Orson's on the trail of some bloodthirsty pirates. Seems they're both after the same precious treasure. The only difference is that Orson wants the treasure alive...
