Oodles of new, bizarre offerings are in comics shops tomorrow! Grant Morrison's first run on Batman Inc. wraps up, a bunch of new 2000 AD stuff hits bookshelves, and one of Jim Henson's unpublished existentialist scripts gets the graphic novel treatment. Hop to it!
Grant Morrison wraps up his run on the first season Batman Incorporated with the Batman Incorporated: Leviathan Strikes one-shot (you can read a preview here). Also coming out this week is Chris Roberson's supernatural miniseries Memorial (which Roberson talked to us about at New York Comic Con) and the new Ender's Game prequel comic Formic Wars: Silent Strike.
This week you can look forward to new issues of Dark Horse Presents (which focuses on Hellboy), Batman, Wonder Woman, Fables, IDW's Cobra, Daredevil, Invincible Iron Man, Uncanny X-Force, Wolverine and The X-Men, The Boys: Butcher, Baker, Candlestickmaker, and Punisher MAX.
One graphic novel this week that could be worth a look is Jim Henson's A Tale of Sand. Here's the description of this book, and you can check out a preview here:
Discovered in the Archives of The Jim Henson Company, A Tale of Sand is an original graphic novel adaptation of an unproduced, feature-length screenplay written by Jim Henson and his frequent writing partner, Jerry Juhl. A Tale of Sand follows scruffy everyman, Mac, who wakes up in an unfamiliar town, and is chased across the desert of the American Southwest by all manners of man and beast of unimaginable proportions.
A raft of 2000 AD books are out tomorrow: Black Hawk: The Intergalactic Gladiator, The Judge Dredd Complete Case Files: Volume 4, and Alan Grant's Mazeworld. Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden's Baltimore: The Plague Ships is collected in trade paperback, as is Robert Kirkman and Rob Liefeld's The Infinite, and Rick Remender's indie series Strange Girl.
Also, Robert Kirkman's Jubilee miniseries is back in print — in another reality, AMC is airing this every Sunday at 9 PM. Greg Rucka and Darick Robertson's run on Wolverine is also collected in one volume. And as usual, here's the list of everything being released to comic stores tomorrow, and you can find your nearest comic retailer here. Happy reading, gang!
